But applies so much to the Grand Old Fascists of this country being alright at finding some nasty post somewhere that makes the left look bad.

'Yes, that post with 3 likes represents the left's views sir, how horrible!'

Is a marvelous sentence. From the "Not Like Us" trial…

"The views expressed by users @kaioken8026, @mrright8439, and @ZxZNebula ... do not alter the Court’s analysis."
The Court holds, based upon a full consideration of the context in which “Not Like Us” was published, that a reasonable listener could not have concluded that “Not Like Us” was conveying objective facts about Drake. The views expressed by users @kaioken8026, @mrright8439, and @ZxZNebula, and the other YouTube and Instagram commentators quoted in the Complaint, Am. Compl., ¶¶ 73-74, do not alter the Court’s analysis. In a world in which billions of people are active online, support for almost any proposition, no matter how farfetched, fantastical or unreasonable, can be found with little effort in any number of comment sections, chat rooms, and servers. “[T]hat some readers may infer a defamatory meaning from a statement does not necessarily render the inference reasonable under the circumstances.” Jacobus, 51 N.Y.S.3d at 336.

Fucking evil. Fucking evil evil evil. So sad to watch Android plunge into darkness, deny users any choice and agency with their devices.
jauntywk.bsky.social
Maybe a better bargain than the slipshod alternatives. Has some good privacy steps builtin. But how I loath this age.

It also strongly implies that very very few super agents will be approved to access the web in the future. 😭

What a kick-ass All-In-One form factor, I love the idea so much.

Ideally I could dual boot Linux and Android. WebOS here is a wild leap side-ways. But I hope the large display+computer form factor can thrive & carry on.

Nice effort to see, lot of good platform concerns to be able to bring in here. Feels like there's so much wild terrain for MCP.

So frustrating how bad bittorrent is at being able to be used behind VPN.

I was using namespaced-openvpn for a couple years, which worked & was ok but felt drastic. Like the 6th thing I tried!

Deckard is the hostname for my steam deck. I don't feel like this should be allowed.

Fucking boo. Loser shit.

🤫! Rarely what I want but in this case! Don't ruin it!

(Even if the support is (likely) much worse than before.)

I wonder if we indeed will get UDNA 1, if CDNA 5 here is the last, or whether the bifurcated line up carries on.

Seems so hard to imagine consumer space and compute space sharing DNA's to me! But that has been the plan!!

This sounds extremely bad. Intel has been such an amazing open source helper making computers better for so long. Absolutely heart wrenching thinking of them giving up the mantle on this.

These are both super impressive, love to see.

Here's a the last commit with ArkTypes and Zod, for anyone else interested.

My gut feel is that your impedance mismatch is real for sure. Would be great to get validation too though! A real tension.

Jumping around a bit,

I've advocated in the past for primary education to have server labs, setup for kids to play on, admin and host.

Was a delight to see this recent write-up, in that cloth.

I wouldn't say "glad" but ali appreciate that we have this not-even early indicator.

The kayfabe of app stores really showing its colors: insecure for democratic society, a giant civilizational hazard that is utterly inexcusable, 100% to be routed around.

I feel like I want F3's wasm smashed together w OpenZL's composability.

Both are making data encoding more modular! It feels like F3 has much more programmability, but lacks the skeleton/structure/composability OpenZL brings. How would you characterize/contrast?

The title here really is the thing.

To be fair to component model, the underway 0.3 is a huge huge lift. Building a radical new async runtime. Incredible feat.

Hopefully the road to 1.0 thereafter isn't bad. Expect end of 2026 to mid 2027. What an incredible future it promises.

That will become more autonomic—able to handle trouble cases that previously would have required expert knowledge.

We are driving the labor & barriers cost down. This looks like winning to me, this is the change I want to see in the world.
jauntywk.bsky.social
This is hugely hopeful to me, that the abundant computing in the world will be something that some day everyday people don't need to be so afraid of,

That operationalization will advance & be better able to communicate itself,
jauntywk.bsky.social
I want to emphasize that the barriers will get lower and lower. We'll get better at this. To broader and broader audiences.
jauntywk.bsky.social
There's a very significant chance I have no net impact ever in the world with my specific efforts!

But someone has to do it. And I know if few people better suited, with more interest in being a broad master of my site.

If not me, who? is a dubious attachment but there it is.

I self host because it's an incredibly important virtue, for a capability we as a civilization will over time only get better and better and better at and need only more and more.

I worry that this specific icon outlives the horror of that worst era. The sign/symbol outstripping the meaning.

I think of it so much, & it's a pretty good icon for the folder containing the times. But also such horror.
