Iteration & expansion of our mediaforms.
Embodying ourselves amid the digital.
Singing life to the new bodies electric.
To properly become connected together we must devise better forms to commune with the machine & connect w ourselves.

So weird (& not) how much it seems like the military might be the first in the US to escape the jaws of vulgar hideous consumerism swallowing us all.

But then not.

Shout out to the incredible @propublica.org write-up on the LCS (2023), on how badly eaten we are.

i wish @e18e.dev could help me find CLI frameworks/helpers for node. pretty broad category, but a place where speed would be very nice to have.

devilish depths of madness. my neovim is auto-formatting my typescript and by default it's setting a very short maximum line length, changing formatting on all kinds of files.

i really want my default to be ok. but man what a nightmare of complexity to understand where this is happening.

really slick simple onboarding path, for folks in a space to join into neat multi-player computing experiences.
Hey, I just launched an app called Antler. The app showcases how we can rebuilt WeChat Mini Apps, but using open web standards.

the rust/wasm experience was quite painful then suddenly quite fine.

wasm-pack is *everywhere*, there's a whole rust-wasm world that existed. but is now just not needed, deprecated?

wasm-bindgen --target bundler scared me off with the name but seems most straightforward, least custom/bespoke.

Delightful update on rctest's hydrofoil crafts.
#4 here tackling good servo control loops was very fun.

A little scared to try this but, just to throw this out there, I dig Reus 2 & am happy to reshare some good news. A cute pretty cozy game of trying to find synergies for your civs, finding ways to max your biomes. Simple fun, great place setting.

Almost put out a "speaking for the dead" plea for a wildly broadscape thing, what OOP has meant over the ages to different folks. Today: somewhat of a rubric!

such a monumental clash that GraphQL and Graph Query Language are both "GQL".

sad again to have lost Kuzu, & it's so so neat child kuzu-wasm.

Any other members of the Deleuze / Guattari (/ DeLanda) Assemblage Theory society about?

Keeps feeling like so many of the hypotheticals are somewhat seen in Machine Learning.

Looking for some kind of good "Genesis Mission" reference to lead with. The unholy anti-federation at the reigns now seeks to terraform our hearts and minds with it's Genesis device!

2025 and yeah, high pressure sodium (HPS) public/street lamps have largely disappeared from my world.

I still could use a little warmer a glow but it's pretty not bad TBH. The color quality is generally much nicer.

Series of moments:

Was interested in robots as a kid. Started understanding simple electronics, but, "what drives that" q?

Seeing a friend's dad's Mac Performa turn on & a desktop, wow. "This could do anything" feel.

I celebrate today this rare moment where the veil on reality ("reality", quotes *especially* necessary this time) lifts: a rare sudden truer look of what the world really is.

Breaking the frame of easy naive belief, and seeing the deeper complexity. Of what simple fools we be.

Absurd and wild visualization/tool for understanding how the data flows. Awesome tool, reflects so much on what computing is.

Would love to also see bifurcation support. Can you plug 4x SSD into that 16x slot? Core question ahead.

I keep stressing over how incredible misguided/useless Wayland criticism is. Just so insane how much folks adore their weird limiting hated un-adjustable high-abstraction monolith. Deranged how folks disdain competitive implementations.

Really sorry for Steam but imo the Steam Machine is so f-ed by the ram prices going astronomical. What terrible timing.

+$300 price for the 16/8gb ddr5/gddr5 prices, vs ~4mo ago. Bummer for steam bummer for the world.

Maybe for my own sake here, I want to re-emphasize:

"Counterpublics" is an *amazing* word. That I'd never heard before. That, wow, is impactful, defines & encompasses a reality.
I've made the point in the past that Trump's support is based on a coalition of disordered counterpublics which distrust institutions, such as anti-vaxxers, Pizzagate truthers, and the like. Their primary loyalty is to their individual causes, not Trump, and this is the coalition fracturing.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I do support him and his administration ... his remarks of course have been hurtful ... unfortunately it has all come down to the Epstein files ... I will continue to do my small part to get the files released."
