Getting to that age where instead of, "X years ago." I'm going, "X decades ago." and it still feels weird.

Like when I was teaching a class of undergrads and brought up 9/11 and realized the date, and that none of them were alive when it happened, while I was in high school.

The story takes place in the 28,000's technically, with the timeline diverging with one man's birth in 1979.

So there is an Earth (Terra) where all of the characters on Kolybel ancestors are from. It's exactly like ours until 1979, I can't find the day right now.

Long way of saying evolution.
Hello, #DecemberWorldbuilders! Tell us about the creation of your people according to the in-world lore. Were they created by gods? Did they evolve from single-celled organisms? Maybe a bit of both? Maybe they don't know, and maybe they have stories about it. What are their creation myths?

In 2004, I was student council president. It was my job to lead the holiday assembly where presenters talked about different holidays. I thought it was dry, so I brought an aluminum pole for the finale.

I then recited the history and traditions of Festivus.

Was a hit, and fun. Something different.

Canada moves closer to the EU while becoming more independent from its crackhead southern neighbour. About damn time.
Canada clinches deal to join Europe’s €150B defense scheme
The deal concludes months of tough talks and will allow Ottawa to take part in procurements financed by the EU’s SAFE program.

Canada is not a perfect country, and there is a thin line between pride and nationalism. That said, I’m proud that we remain belligerent little wolverines against the fascist freak show going on down south. We’re as pissed as we were on day one. Except parts of Alberta, idk what they’re on about.

Most get a name when they're interesting enough that I sorta 'bookmark' them with a name, or if I know they'll return in another scene.

The only other time was naming the three Autemá who attack Tatyana at the Second Sun base; a 1v3 fight with 3 no-names would not work... They can't return later.

We've talked about social media but now your character has inexplicably (unless they had it already) gained access to the whole internet!

How do they feel about it? What are they using it for? Is it beneficial?

So, if you've looked at my patreon, you may have noticed the bulk of it is a 75,000+ word novel. And though it's free to read, that can be intimidating.

So perhaps try my short story: Hunted in the Wolf Wood and see if my style is to your liking.

Excited for tonight: First munch in years, and first time it's with my husband (of whom I have no dynamic, BDSM is really just a passing interest of mine, really, not something I look for in a partner).

First novel is pinned. WIP is the sequel, exploring 6 chars as their stories intersect in a rapidly changing world; existentialism, purpose, under a nuclear conspiracy.

The overthrown Councils were designed to temper scientific progress, out of fear of what (nuclear hellfire) it might bring. Since the revolutions, many nations are surging ahead with all kinds of research.
In most nations, education is available to everyone, and contributions are made by many.

Welcome to the first week of #DecemberWorldbuilders! This week is about SCIENCE (broadly speaking) (you can play along even if you're writing pre-industrial fantasy!)
Today's Q: Can anyone in your world participate in scientific research? Or is it reserved for elites?

Love in Second Sun
I just realized Tat spends the novel mourning two loves. Nika for her resilience, bravery, and highly compatible masochism. Yuri for his sense of purpose and steadfastness. Things Tat respects.
Then after escaping she goes to rescue Kali. Never met her. Who embodies all they were.

Victor: May, it's early First Age tech! The global sphere waking. I'm watching videos of animals, and people airing geviences while driving.

"That's fun?"

"It's a beautiful snapshot of our ancestors. Also I pirated that John Wick movie you want to see."

Example: JUN-JUL-AUG is designated: The Golden Three.

DEC-JAN-FEB has a different name: Shit Canal.

Maybe it's my past as a Communications Director, but I'm tempted to answer upcoming prompts with in-universe documents, like me jumping the gun on one.
No one's going to read this, so I'll post the inspiration I got early and then do so again on the 9th when it's tagged and not in a reply.

American Football seasons are so weird. You play SEVENTEEN GAMES. That's not enough for anything! Do you know what seventeen games is in the MLB? 10.5%. You have 145 more, we barely consider things started at 17.

To each their own. But I think it's weird, unnatural, and will legislate against it.
