Honestly, as far as Kali coming out goes, making out with a woman on the bow of the UNN Niagara, the largest, most fortified, heavily gunned, and manned battleship ever constructed, in front of the High Commander and Chairwoman (UNS, VEC Leaders) and dozens of sailors is a pretty cool way to do it.

Kali: Comes out in to Tatyana after she's recovered, during a dance at Ashe's wedding reception. More than a lesbian, but also a type of masochist known as an 'Anguíshel, like Nika who Tat loved & lost a decade prior.
Comes out to everyone while making out with Tat on the bow of the UNS Flagship.

May's language is violence, once used to do hideous things, she now uses it to protect people, and most importantly protect her daughter who was drugged and raped in the first novel. Also, what happened to Gillean Mitchell? Plus a little foreshadowing for another POV character's story.

Fascists want to be feared, they want to be hated, but the last thing they want to be are fools. They want to be the tough guy.

So when a dude dressed like a frog is air humping them during a dance party, that's not the hate they need, that's realizing they're there for nothing but to be mocked.

Pain and gain today. A workout with an annoying, not serious injury. Then characters wrote themselves and May's backstory got stronger at emotional cost.

I post two chapters on Saturday as part of FantasyIndies prompts. Tomorrow is Part 3/4 of Tat rescuing Kali, and May teaches Ashe how to punch.
