If you have charging, the 2025 Ioniq is just "the bag of fixes the community wanted + a NACS port" which is awesome

They're phenomenal, would have grabbed one if I had charging. It's the size of a Grand Cherokee internally due to excellent packaging

When this person woke up this morning, they didn’t say to themselves:

“I’m going to make my city’s streets safer, air cleaner, traffic lighter, neighborhood quieter, and medical and maintenance bills cheaper.”

Yet they do all of that anyway. Why? The right choice is designed to be the easy choice.

Same with the "it's too cold to bike in NYC thing"

You hear it in Miami! "It's too hot to walk around"

No it's not! That's just not true!

Gotta be SF, the geography makes it easy

I've also seen Philly floated but I don't think the politics there are doable.

Chicago.

I wish there were more upright bikes in the US - we mostly see them as "cruisers"

I just want to own a citibike for toddling around Queens

Rediscovering Buried Rivers from Zurich to Yonkers and NYC -> see how daylighting Flushing Creek could rejuvenate urban spaces, boost biodiversity, and enhance community life.
Why We Need Daylighting in Kissena Park
Daylighting, or the process of uncovering buried rivers and streams, is gaining popularity worldwide for its significant social, environmental, and economic benefits. As waterways were once the lifeblood of cities, they transformed hubs of humanity before being buried due to pollution and industrial expansion during the industrial revolution. The ecohydrology-based renaturalization of these waterways is seen as a means to recapture lost spaces and improve the quality of life in cities.

the frontage is more street wall in the new one, and the setback is better

it's just a better building

that's phenomenal news. I saw the footing is also underway, given that's just a concrete curb I believe you

Now we just need the UN Greenway done!

Great interview here. @ceceliablack.bsky.social really demystifies the One Seattle growth plan, w/ special attention to how restrictive zoning impacts people with disabilities, who are too often overlooked in the planning process. www.kuow.org/stories/how-...
How the One Seattle Comprehensive Plan could affect people with disabilities
The One Seattle Comprehensive Plan is working its way through city council. It dictates how the city will grow over the next twenty years, including where density is allowed.

EDC put out an RFP for "construction management services" for the UN gap and there hasn't been a peep since then - it's maddening. We're so close!

KC 1929: Assertions to the effect that “people preferred to drive” are guesses in the guise of explanations. A minority of motorists degraded streetcar service for the majority.

KCPSC: “Practically the only cause of delay in service is due to unthinking motorists who block [streetcars’] progress.”
