Venom in the Valley of Bones is out NOW!

Jo and Grace (butch/femme twins) fight a giant snake to save a town's water supply. With a side of sapphic desire to make it extra interesting.

#LesFicFri [From my WIP. Will be a few months at best before publication.]

“I’ll make it work, and if I can’t, I’ll let you know.” Stephanie stood with her shoulders back, her entire body screaming for DeAnna to try her. It was saucy and a whole lot of sexy.
“All right. You can pick the next song.”

I've got a sapphic weird western ready for a good home. Any home, really, as long as you like lesbians and action-driven short stories.

Take care of yourselves and enjoy the things that make you happy. Joy can be shared, too.

I have several big things coming up both personally and professionally. The best thing I can do is take things in small chunks. Even small things all added up together leads to great achievement. Aka, try not to be overwhelmed by everything and take it slowly despite deadlines.

On Friday, I got the cartons with my new nightstands in them. I spent Friday night and Saturday afternoon putting them together. I'm so proud of myself, and I love how they look in my room.

This week I went through the rut of "Do I need to finish this? No one wants it anyway." But I reminded myself that one very specific person DID want it. Her encouragement is why I started. So the reality of that helped me just start so I could add words. Got 3K in 2 days!

There are a few things that have annoyed me this week, but not about my writing. The home repairs I had tried to contract to happen 2 weeks ago have gone nowhere. Not getting returned calls/texts.

As for writing, I've spent some time and added at least 3K in 2 days.
Q1: How are you holding up this week? #WeeknightWriters

#WeeknightWriters Intro

I'm JD (she/her), writer of SFF and romance, often with bi leads. I've gotten back into writing in the last week and am hovering around 21K in my WIP, a polyam rockstar romance that's a sequel to a short novel I published in 2022.
I still have a week alone. Can I finish it?

It got worse. In chapter 3, the hero tells his love interest that she's "the most beautiful woman in the tri-county area."

In Louisiana. Where they're supposed to be right then.

/facepalm
Just started listening to a Louisiana-set book by an author and editor who is clearly not from Louisiana. It mentions the local county instead of parish.

I know we all make mistakes. I'm sure I have plenty of my own. This was a basic factual thing that isn't hard to discover. Disappointed!

Finished watching Wonder Man and REALLY enjoyed it.

I watched it for the premise and that it was a stand-alone (no "homework").

Who gave Ben Kingsley permission to be that much of a snack at 82?!

Loved the friendship between Simon and Trevor and Trevor's conflict.

The Doorman episode alone was 🥇

So sharing thanks for the words of encouragement you continue to give along the journey.

I bought myself two new matching end tables for my bedroom. I'm going to put those together this weekend. So that will make a good environment. Plus, I've tidied up several of my rooms with nice writing nooks so I can write all over my house creatively.

#WeeknightWriters A3 Joy

I have 8 cats. I let them sleep w/ me, though it's not always restful for me. After a night w/o them, 6 of the 8 surrounded me Tuesday night.

I realized ancient Egyptians would be totally jealous of me and all my cats and their love.

So dumb, but it did give me joy!

This week has been okay. I was in a happy bubble last week because I had some time off. This week I'm trying to get back on track with both work and home. I'm holding up fine and finally back to my WIP.

I might not be able to do "fast drafts" anymore. /shrug

I'm JD (she/her), writer of often romantic stories with bi leads across genres. I have a foot firmly in SFF, even if doesn't always look like it.

My WIP is a polyam rockstar romance with 3 bi musicians who find professional success and romantic fulfilment with each other.
