Welp. Both Senate bills failed, exactly as expected (both failed 51-48; they needed 60).

If you're a current ACA enrollee who was holding out on actively renewing, STOP WAITING. YOU ONLY HAVE UNTIL *MONDAY* TO ENROLL FOR COVERAGE STARTING IN JANUARY IN MOST STATES.

It’s the same list as “Policies That Don’t Work”?
I recently quipped that I'm seeing so much deja vu from Republicans re. their healthcare "ideas"that I can simply recycle my own blog posts from the Trump 1.0 era.

I was half joking, but here we are...

The ACA tax credits disproportionately benefit our small businesses. Congress must act.

Is it 'Winter' or 'winter'?

The seasons are common nouns, not proper nouns, so they are not usually capitalized.

They should be capitalized when they are the first word of a sentence or in titles, and in cases where they are being personified, as in poetry.

Congress must extend the ACA tax credits that are a lifeline for millions of families.

That’s exactly what the Democratic plan would do by providing the certainty of these tax credits for another 3 years. I urge my Republican colleagues to join us to advance this proposal.
If Democrats’ bill to extend the ACA tax credits becomes law, it will accomplish the most important thing we can do right now:

Prevent skyrocketing health care costs for Americans.

This is a crude comparison but it underscores the point:

At full price, employer-based insurance premiums have been similar to or HIGHER than full price ACA coverage on average for years now.

With subsidies, they've also been similar WITH the enhanced tax credits.

Sometime after WWI in the US it slowly began to creep toward "job training."

This is a skeet about our current state of civics.
There are a lot of big questions at play here, but the most fundamental might be: what is the point of college?
