The Foregone Conclusion

For the right woman I’d
open back up again.
It’s already been decided.
A foregone conclusion.
I’m not jaded yet.

I certainly the hell should be.
I know there is great women
in the world.
Someday I might even find one.
Someone to learn me for love
and not to use against me.

She’s out there.
My equal in every way.
Someone to walk beside me.
Through whatever comes.

She’s somewhere in the future.
I couldn’t begin to guess when.
As I said, she’s a foregone conclusion.

Mastodon is actually old timey for The boat mast where Don's crow's nest was. The legends don't say what Don was doing up there but the story passed down two ways. Some said unspeakable things with the deckhands... while others heroism in battle. I surmise it was probably was both.
