TL;DR - I bought a G400 hoping to double its RAM, only to find out just soldering on the chips had no effect. I had to dig around the internet to learn about its hidden parameters inside the BIOS image, and make a wild guess to make the card detect the extra RAM.
Got this (un)interesting dual head Matrox G400. I’ve heard about its special dual-output capability back in the early days. But the card always felt like it’s not for gaming. And I’ve never considered to build a PC with it back then.
