Made this little tool to help straighten chips on the Voodoo 2 if the chip appears to be twisted/shifted. Turns out if you attempt that, many legs would start to detach, which feels very wrong. So it’s not very useful after all🤔
Also yes, I bought another very broken Voodoo 2🤪

I believe now I have all the parts to make this thing.
But to make this thing, I have to make another thing to flash the one small thing that’s going onto the thing I wanna make, just to save a few dozens of bucks. This is the price to pay to be cheap, I guess🤡

And yes, this machine comes with a TV tuner/AV capture card. Have to test it with a console just to see how it looks like.

Dump verified. MacOS doesn't recognize it as-is, so more fiddling is required. But at least I have good data🤔

Thought it might be a good idea to pull out the HDD and back it up.
Someone at NEC thoughts it’s ok to hide the HDD so deep inside the machine that requires tearing it down almost to the bottom🤡

Bought an adapter to save time, ended up having to tear it down and isolate pins due to shorted pins. Sigh🫠

Starting DQ2 right away and I now see that the entirety of DQ1 map is just that small chunk in top left👀😂

Spent the whole afternoon retrying the fight. Turns out I did not configure the gears properly. After doing so, the fight was actually quite manageable even 4 levels below the recommendation😆
