You can only cross a bridge node if the data at the top of your stack memory matches its color. Moving backwards and erasing all traces over a bridge automatically forces that data back to memory.

Tunnels let you jump horizontally or vertically to any node of the same color, allowing you to move faster and access areas of the server that were previously inaccessible.

Firewalls (diamond-shaped) block download attempts if your route passes through them and prevent passage if your memory contains a node of the same color. This often forces you to find alternative paths, sometimes leaving you exposed to sentinels.

You can use the stack memory to store colored square nodes and write them into empty square nodes. As the name suggests, the memory works as a stack, so the last node you add will be the first one to come out when you need to rewrite a node.

A gate with a number in it will only open if you choose a route that contains exactly that amount of matching color nodes. The route profile helps you keep track of nodes in your current route.

Achieve a ghost run by hacking a server without being detected. Every server in the game can be hacked this way if you learn how to exploit the flaws in each defense system’s behavior.

As you move while connected, you leave behind traces that can be detected by some defense programs. Installing backdoors may enable different attack routes less exposed to detection. You can also erase your traces by moving backwards along your path.

Every run begins by selecting a server to hack. Once connected, your objective is to download data from all databases and then disconnect without being detected. After your first move inside a server, you have 20 secs before you are traced and eliminated.

The 2013 game has been completely redone to fit my current vision of traditional arcade game design. It's denser (more levels but less overall length), with better pacing, mechanics and a proper scoring system.
