Young neighbour is blasting Chicago. First “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” and now “You’re the inspiration”. Honestly not mad.

The only thing I didn’t like about the #pwhl game (Sceptres vs Goldeneyes) at Scotiabank Arena was the horrendous HOT-TO-GO remix. Had to cover my ears it hurt! Oh, and the $17 drinks sucked too.

In Toronto for the PWHL game (early bday present to myself). I haven’t decided who I’m cheering for but it feels nice seeing all the people in Sceptres merch.

I still have my "I like it long!" protest sticker from when Harper tried to eliminate the long form census. People galvanized very quickly, and the government did not anticipate the level of pushback they got.

Governments who want less data want to make policy based on vibes and not facts.

I watched the first ep of Starfleet Academy yesterday & I’m still hung up on why regulation hair for Caleb means short hair when the Klingon gets to keep his long (& so do human women).

Sometimes I avoid buying snacks on purpose thinking if I really want something I’ll make it myself. Usually backfires & I spend extra at corner store.
But last night, I actually baked cookies - chewy oatmeal! I really should do it myself more often.

I binged watched all of Stranger Things these past 2 weeks and finished the series tonight.
I really dig Nancy’s Rambo style in the finale. 🔥

I’d like to say “you’re welcome”
to the 50+ patrons that have taken out the Heated Rivalry audiobook since I bought it on Libby on Friday. Happy bookmas 📚🎄

I went to Costco on a Saturday, THE Saturday before Christmas, and survived.

(Thankfully just picking up meds so was in and out).

Ready to take a nap after work when something about today’s date twigs a memory - I have tickets to Stratford theatre tonight. I guess I have to get properly dressed!

This nonsense is happening in 2025 because we are allowing this to happen in 2025. When we elect people who quietly condone or propagate hate speech against marginalized groups this is what we get.

Honestly a bit surprised the Detroit marathon is still international, with a part run in Windsor, given the current state of affairs and attitudes.
And they're off. The runners of the 48th annual Detroit Free Press Marathon presented by MSU Federal Credit Union take off at the start of the race on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025. bit.ly/3WJIvqm

I wish I could show you the image of a middle-aged man in lederhosen wearing a Canadian flag as a cape. Saw him strutting his way downtown just as I was leaving. He’s bound to be having fun at Oktoberfest.

The boomers in the extended family FB group (for descendants of my 2nd great grandparents) have started using AI to animate old photos of family. Very disturbing.

Making my 55-yr old partner watch Mulan (1998). I was listening to “The Night Ends with Fire”, a Mulan inspired fantasy, and he kept interrupting to ask basic Mulan questions.

Tried to use up all the veg from the CSA box this week. Roasted beets, turnip, carrots and potatoes.
I dare say, I almost like beets! Still not a fan of turnip though.

I don’t believe in omens but it still sucks to watch a little bird (juvenile goldfinch?) flail and thrash to death while on my morning walk. Good morning to me 😕

August was my month to buy books for my Libby consortium. I’m off today so finished up purchasing yesterday. Even bought new titles (not just books to fill holds) including ones I want to read. Promptly forgot to go onto Libby afte, so now shortest hold for book I want is 6 weeks.

Went to an old friend’s farm last night. He still has this old timey phone in his house and it still works! Another friend tried it out and was reminded of how slow dialling on rotary is.

Today at work I saw that Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan are teaming up to write a paranormal romance.

Never in a million years would I have thought to partner those two together. Like, who approached whom with this idea first?

Had a long day of driving and walking yesterday so partner was going to walk dog this AM. Yet here we both are, thanks to a 6:30 fire alarm in our building. (Likely false)
