still thinking about this article today. so many societal ills are caused by people white-washing what actually happens. it's awful to see games do it too.

can't wait for cozy domestic violence simulator or cozy kkk simulator
a wholesome plane has hit the second cozy tower

I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

Speaking from personal experience, this is a truly fantastic time to finally figure out you're gay, and put that into practice.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

The way my eyes kept getting WIDER through this video!!! It is BONKERS to think about how much time and care went into animating this via embroidery, a medium where every stitch has to be hand-made. Incredibly cool fluidity on display, and something deeply human too
you have to watch this and i'm not kidding. headphones on.

every frame of this is *embroidered* and photographed. something wonderful is happening here at the intersection of the psychological and the physical.

Somewhere during my very disrupted night of sleep, the doctor in my dream handed me a bag of what I thought were not-awfully-nice snacks. But when I'd eaten a few crunchy things and looked down at the remaining screws and washers, it turned out it was actually a bag of IKEA fastenings.

library apps should have a feature where when you're queuing for a loan you can see the reading progress of the current lender of the book and you can message them things like "a little slow aren't we?" "reading hard or hardly reading?" and things of that nature

You ever watch someone encounter their very first satire, and then crash fatally on its rocks?

This passage was, improbably, found at the end of a review for The Secret History.

I like to close out my talks sometimes by trying to draw my least favorite things as quickly as possible (horse, hands, car 😒).

A note arrived after one of these talks. I love it to bits. It’s going on a wall.

When two colleagues in a row earnestly ask me "are you ok?" my first thought is not "ah, a national day for promoting awareness of mental illness, how wonderful, how affirming".

I have a generalised anxiety disorder, so my first thought is a panicky "oh SHIT, who died???"
