In a more sensible and serious world, Mark Kelly would take Pete Hegseth’s job as secretary of defense, @radiofreetom.bsky.social argues:
Senator Mark Kelly Is in the Wrong Job
He should be secretary of defense.

This is unacceptable.
I don’t care your political ideology, this administration cannot whitewash & reward Russia for its violent invasion of Ukraine’s sovereignty.
I expect ALL legislators, no matter their politics to push back on all efforts to help Russia & hurt Ukraine.

I sort of love the self inflicted chaos of this, all of it. ;)

I cannot get over what a blunder Elon created in the name of ‘transparency’.
And absolutely love the idea of folks staring at their screens, while mimicking the revelation, ‘I could have had a V8!’

DHS is doing this over & over:

A) agent blatantly violates rights
B) DHS puts out lying statement saying the person committed an assault or something
C) By the time the facts have truly been nailed down the story is no longer fresh

Stop just printing DHS’ lies. At least tell readers they lie a lot

Grand opening, grand closing.

X quietly disabled a new feature that showed which country an account was posting from when it revealed that lots of popular right wing MAGA accounts were being run from foreign countries like India and Nigeria.

As a retiring but still sitting member of the House, MTG has the opportunity to read into the public record documents that otherwise could not be released... and would be protected by the constitution's speech or debate clause from prosecution.

It's important to understand what this ad does and why it is so threatening to the Trump admin. It gets to social identity theory, which posits that we have many identities, and the one which is salient in a given context will dictate how we think/behave in a particular situation. 1/
WATCH: After six Democratic lawmakers posted a video urging members of the military not to follow illegal orders, Trump erupted online, accusing them of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” Sen. Elissa Slotkin, one of the senators in that video, joins Chris Hayes to respond.

Shame on our government.

I realize that a swastika is a symbol for many things, but in US culture, it has been almost exclusively affiliated with the German Nazi’s, which has long been understood as a symbol of hate & of great offense to Jewish people (myself included).
bsky.app/profile/adam...
BREAKING: The U.S. Coast Guard just announced they won’t classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols anymore they’re calling them ‘potentially divisive.’ Potentially divisive? Listen, a noose isn’t a conversation starter. A swastika isn’t a debate topic. They are dangerous hate symbols. Full stop

What an absolute piece of sh*t
There are certainly internal divisions in that coalition; but a big tent that includes overt racists has nothing to do w/ those who don’t identify as (maga) republicans.

President Zelenskyy came to the White House, looking for help from his longstanding ally.

He was ambushed, humiliated and berated for not being grateful enough.

Prince Bone Saw bin 9/11 came to the White House, for the first time since he ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

He was revered.

Either Thune played Johnson or Johnson tried to play us and failed. Either way, Johnson looks like a fool and Trump has lost his grip on Congress.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

Reupping.

Lots of people laughing that Trump has confessed his tariffs drove up prices.

Too many aren't mentioning that he'll have to pay the tariffs back, meaning there'll be no $$ for rebates.

Trump has only bankrupted consumers and created a big hole in his budget.

The Roberts Court deciding that law doesn’t apply to the president, at least this one, even when he’s out of office, was a bad idea.

They should not have done that. It has had foreseeable negative consequences. They should have gone with the Constitution and over two centuries of precedent instead.
