Dream job used to be a National Park Ranger but not sure that would be a good career move…

I might of recently googled how to become a realtor. Definitely not my dream job but seemed a plausible option if all else fails. After all Barnes and Nobles can only hire so many people.

must be incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have federal funding that was promised to you for important work suddenly and arbitrarily ripped away

All the big breakthroughs in cancer have started with NIH and NCI funded research.

Every single medication or curative approach used in cancer patients is the direct or indirect result of NIH/NCI funded research.

Today, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) called on Congress to reject the Administration's nearly 40% cut to the NIH budget and allocate a bipartisan funding increase to $51.3 billion for the agency to accelerate progress for patients. www.aacr.org/about-the-aa...

Today is a good day to take a 3.5 yo to the zoo and pet a 🐐 goat. I can go back to stressing about the state of science tomorrow…

They seemed reasonable at the time and I kept seeing stuffed ones out west. Believing they were real seemed way more likely than so many places collaborating on this conspiracy.

I’m embarrassed to say I thought Jackalopes were real for way too long. 🤷‍♀️

Tears are rolling, I am so amazed by the millions of people showing up to protest at the "HandsOff" rallies across the country - Trump/Musk keep your f'ckin hands off science, social security, veterans affairs, education, public health, medicaid, medical etc.

Today I attended the Hands OFF protest in Holland MI and there were SO many people. I have hope. #Handsoffourscience

Very disappointing to hear this -- Chrystal shared concerns about this being the result during an interview in Feb. about UNC's cancer research efforts being threatened in a variety of ways. The Starbird Lab does some fascinating work, and you can read about the exact kinds of treatment it's aiding.

I'm infuriated to see some of my brightest and most brilliant friends lose funding that they worked (100x as) hard for, tackling important topics like cancer, neurological disorders, and infectious diseases!

They have earned every accolade and achievement, I challenge anyone to show otherwise!

Finally got the notice. Very sad day for the MOSAIC program that supported some of the most amazing scientists I know, as well as some of the awesome people on my lab.
Letter from the NIH indicating that my grant has been terminated (though it seems we can keep the remaining funds for this year?)
