Ideally this will be 80% me discussing pro cycling with likeminded morons but there should be some other random stuff too. If I revert to Swedish I'm likely irate about some local issue that may or may not be relevant if you live in Kansas or Kuala Lumpur.

Do (some? a lot of?) people really consider it that prestigeous a race?

Amstel and Strade you hear a lot (ok, rightly so ..grumble grumble) but Fleche Wallonne, really?

Ganska övertygad om att det bara är ett så desperat läge. Palestinierna behöver 5 minuters respit och en chans att få in lite mat, överleva. Netanyahu behöver få loss gisslan och få en påtaglig seger.
Sen vet de att chansen att det hela havererar och allt sätter igång igen om dagar/veckor är 95%.

I det flesta fall går det inte, det blir lite /ingenting av det, eller så blir det beslut som fastnar i rättstvist. I vilket fall så har medierna bara rapporterat den stora dealen och när misslyckandet kommer så har de gått vidare till något annat spännande. Och sen kan dårfinken skryta med sin deal

Det är ju hela Trumps MO (och mediernas misslyckande) överlag.
Han gör aldrig något förarbete, istället annonserar han någon hastigt framtvingad "deal" som ingen förstår hur den faktiskt ska genomföras. Därefter får tjänstemän försöka lappa ihop hågot av allt det han pladdrat löst om

This is good illustration how already the UCI struggle to get it right and consistant. In two cases the "extra" married name gets listed as a first name and I'd be willing to bet there's been a few races where race graphics have listed her as Emma Bjerg.

How do you mean he has dropped it? Officially?

I could imagine image conscious Danish riders (or their agents/teams) not submitting their full names in their UCI registration since they know race lists and graphics have a hard time getting it right. Skjelmose often pops up as "Mattias Jensen"

Alternativtolkning: De har inte alls radikaliserats, de känner sig bara mer bekväma att öppet säga det de tänkt länge för att det nu möts av en mer homogent positiv respons på en sajt som en gång representerade ett genuint blandat tvärsnitt av populationen men nu nästan bara består av högerröster.

I remember seeing Adrian Petit's back from way down a hill as he crossed the line with arms raised along with Arnaud Demare who won.
That was Copenhagen Worlds U23 race in 2011. Today he retired in Binche-Chimay-Binche.

I dunno it was panic. They've been in this scenario a few times now and she knows whats what.
I think she is just more likely to say "fuck it, I'll just try" in some races that matter less. At Worlds she was signaling "I'm not doing any work, I'll take my chances" just as much as ELB.

Clearly she had the disadvantage of having done the work there but it looked like she was really caught off guard and lost it in that first accelleration. Otherwise she looked like she could have got that even if she was more tired. (of course the sluggish reaction could be a result of being tired)

His key guys keep screwing up the big Cipressa launch. Two years in a row now they've been missing at the wrong time and the plan goes in the crapper. Maybe next year? They'll probably buy up Onley, Healy and Brennan in the off season to improve their chances.
