Reporting live from Chicago, there’s no “hellscape” I’d rather be in.

This economy is fundamentally reliant on immigrant workers.

That is why it's important not to deport them but to help them get documented.

It actually makes economic sense.

The difference is God demands loyalty without evidence he exists, while science provides evidence and lets us come to our own conclusions. If your conclusion differs from science, that means you’re wrong. That’s because science has these things called “facts”, while religion does not.

When is this abomination going to be held accountable for his lies? 🤥😡👇🏼
My husband has epilepsy, so I would prefer to be the breadwinner to prevent excess stress on him. Someday we can maybe get back to that.
I have wondered at what point do we just consider that it is part of evolution and not a disease? And honestly, does it really matter if someone is autistic? People act like it's this terrible thing when it's really not.

A black woman with any form of higher education. And carrying books.
I'm sure many men would be appalled by my marriage: my husband is a follower by nature and I am a born leader. For the first 3 years, I made the money while he was a househusband. It worked for us. Then I had health issues, went back to college, and am ready and trying to find a career job again.
Sadie is always so judgemental...
I was only 14 when my parents split, and my brothers and I had to leave 3 cats behind with our dad. Theirs found homes, but, according to my dad, mine just disappeared.

I never got over that.

I loved my little Isis and I was forced to leave her. It's probably why I am so dedicated to my pets.
I'm not the type to complain about "triggers," but I wish companies would consider people with trauma when coming up with advertising.

Purina's new ad about domestic violence is a great cause, but the ad itself is upsetting.

I lost a cat to domestic violence. And by lost, I mean she disappeared.
I grew up with Christopher Reeve as my superman and he will always be that for me.

However, I adore Henry Cavil, even though I have yet to watch his Superman movies. I just think he's overall a great person with morals and empathy.

This post makes me want to watch the new movie though.
Never watched his show because I just didn't buy him as Superman and have never considered him to be part of that group.

Maybe my subconscious knew that deep down he was just a terrible human being.

Would it even matter after that supreme court decision that the president has immunity?

He would just claim it was official business and, again, never face consequences.

The truth here is so ever relevant, is so simple and profound. I think I might pop it into my next book. Sharing yet again:
I work at a gas station for a grocery store. The only people getting gas this cheap are the ones who spent enough on groceries and earned enough points for a big discount.

Regular gas today was $3.199 per gallon, up from $2.999 when I worked on Saturday, July 26.
Got a letter that my Pennsylvania marketplace plan is expected to increase in price up to 82%.

I guess I'll drop the dental insurance. And here I thought I could finally see a dentist after 30 years of not having coverage.

Welker to Lindsey Graham as he pushes baseless conspiracy theories in an effort to gin up a scandal about Obama: "Are you trying to rewrite history to distract from the Epstein matter, senator?"
We should tax them more. No one needs a $1mil salary to live on.

They could pay low-level workers more and pay themselves less, putting them in a lower tax bracket.
We didn't plan on taking in kittens, so we couldn't plan this months in advance, which is what every rescue and vet told me. Apparently I was supposed to schedule their surgeries before I even found the kittens in a park.
We do not have an SPCA within an hour's drive, and they put priority on county animals over out-of-county animals. Plus they had a long wait-list.
Low cost in our area is $250+ per cat. We went with a local surgery center that charged $150. And by "surgery center" I mean the basement of a house.

These were dumped kittens, so we needed something fast because they were already peeing on everything. Had to keep them because no rescue would help.
