A Christianity that believes it needs a president, legislation and a government to ensure its survival is a Christianity that is centered on the worship of its own power rather than faithfully relying on the power of God.
God is just its mascot for its political ideology

This, btw, is why I oppose the death penalty. Someone (generally many someones, including judge, jury, guards, etc.) have to knowingly and calmly collaborate to take the life of another person. It harms those ppl—who go on to interact with the rest of society & the violence spirals out from there.
6. There is no such thing as free violence. All violence harms the wielder.
Every time someone tries to sell you on the idea that there is something we can do, without cost, that harms other people, realize that they are lying to you.

"Go and learn what this means," Jesus said, "'I desire mercy, not sacrifice'" (Matt 9:13).
There's much to learn here. One lesson: if our understanding of God's commands pushes us to be unmerciful—not showing kindness to the weak, not empowering the disempowered—we've misunderstood God's commands.

How on earth do payments of tariffs actually WORK when they start, stop, and go up and down, in a matter of hours? Like, just logistically?

Your not even allowed to do that. We don't your Energy.
Trump threatens more tariffs on Canada in response to Doug Ford’s export tax on electricity, the more studious among you might ask why an export tax is bad if we don’t need anything from Canada.

I love the summary of Jesus' ministry in Matt 9:35 - teaching (διδάσκων), proclaiming (κηρύσσων), healing (θεραπεύων). Christian ministry is literally didactic, kerygmatic, and therapeutic. (1/2)

Anyone in or on the periphery of charismatic expressions of church would do well to listen to the podcast "Charismatic Revival Fury" which charts the history of the "New Apostolic Reformation." The under-the-radar influence of C.Peter Wagner is so prevalent and needs to be rooted out. (1/2)

Romans 4:25 - "[Jesus was] given up for our offences, and raised for our acquittal."
Just another exhibit for the "atonement wasn't done and dusted on the cross" case that no-one asked me about.

Reminder: just because Job calls humans "worms" in his lament, and David calls himself a "worm" in a Psalm describing his suffering, does not mean you are a worm. It does not mean God thinks of you like a worm.

Experienced a beautiful "Rorate Mass" this evening. I didn't know it was happening, I just knew I wanted to go to a catholic mass today and that's what I ended up in. So deeply moved.

FINALLY finished this bad boy. I actually think that chapter 14 on “word studies” should be the intro on all introductory Greek grammars, and required reading for preachers.

Found a bookmark where I’ve written this: “Reason as the means of moving from one paradigm to another.”
I have no idea what I meant but it sounds clever.

Is “Christ the King” outdated, authoritarian, patriarchal theology? Nope. It’s the opposite. King Jesus undermines the authoritarian & the patriarchal. King Jesus washes his disciples’ feet & teaches us not to Lord it over others, as the Gentiles do.
