Also, stop thinking the desert is the perfect place for these things "because there's nothing out there." These deserts are absolutely rich in ecological and archeological sites. Im currently working on a project for a fed agency to rehab springs and wetlands in the Nevada desert. Dont be so dense.

Saw some comments, not understanding who would drop this. Energy projects on public lands are solely approved by the DOI Sec with priority for high capacity density projects (oil and coal). Solar and wind are seen as low, even if they aren't, and will likely all be denied under this current system.
