No, I didn't just "gain weight". I'm on something called Dirty Intuitive Bulk System. You wouldn't get it.

The best improvement of my new 2024 model year Lenovo work laptop over my previous 2015 model year one is that thanks to having thinner screen bezels it has two inches bigger screen (16" vs 14") with only slightly larger overall size.

So much better if you actually want to use it on the go.

Imagine being so antifascist you arrive at a version of Thiel's "democracy is incompatible with freedom" shtick.

With "friends" like these...
I will say that Trump has really shaken my belief in democracy. I'm not totally convinced that suffrage should be universal

First I got 'intrepid', then 'GOAT'. Wait, isn't "intrepid GOAT" an Ubuntu version name?
Take a screenshot of this GIF, and whichever new word you land on is YOUR word for 2026.

Let's. Go.

Man, the discover feed truly is useless. Not only is it mostly posts from people I already follow. Now it also apparently contains MAGA trolls posting the most inane ragebait.

Man, I didn't want to be negative about LLM's for once, I really did.

But if you want to show off a "cool new thing" and you have to caveat the only example with:
"Look I know this is complete trash, but..."

what the fuck am I supposed to think about that?

Anthropic this morning introduced Claude Skills, a new pattern for making new abilities available to their models: Claude can now use Skills to improve how it performs specific tasks. Skills …

I saw someone today unironically argue that "trying to fix disabled people" (like helping people in wheelchairs walk again or blind people see and such) is eugenics and leads directly to genocide.

I haven't felt this imbued with the Spirit of Centrism in a long time.

Brno discontinued and then restored tram service on it's north-south axis through the old town some years back.

What makes it interesting is that there is also a small circle of tram lines around the center that serve most of the tram traffic.

The real unicorn: an AI startup that's actually profitable.

Little surprise that they're apparently not funded by VC money (directly, they use currently VC subsidized services like GPT)

What do you meeean? I thought cheese already has lots of protein.

Spoiler: it has 19/100g of protein vs 17/100g in regular mozzarella. Surprisingly same price.

Had to endure a day long workshop on an enterprise AI platform (mostly chatbots). Tried my best to keep an open mind (I mean there are always impressive demos). But honestly, it left me unpleasantly unsurprised.

My brain was pretty fried afterwards so just some things that stuck in my mind:

Just thought about how posts on all post Elon micro blogging sites are kinda named after bodily discharges, which I find worthy of the dumbest timeline. "Skeets" on Bluesky, "toots" on Mastodon, "xeets" (pronounced sheets)/ eXcretions on the Nazi Site.
