Got my holiday gifts sorted out and, as always, I’m morose afterwards. Every year I think about how my mom would watch my attempts to wrap gifts and chew me out for “not even trying”. She’s very good at wrapping gifts; I’m not.

Morale was already low as a result of Life Stuff™️ but I just read an article that has me metaphorically feeling like walking into the nearby river*.
*Just metaphorically. The gloom is real but so is the will to live, even if the world in which we live treats us all like hot garbage.
