Huge congrats for the release and for the monumental effort!

Huge congrats to my friends and colleagues at Battlefield Labs for the BF6 launch today!

Lots of #GameAudio goodness in the game.

Looking forward to giving it a whirl.

The fastest code is the one that isn't written.

The most efficient tool is the one that isn't created.

The fastest war is the one that never happens.

(Counterintuitively, any of the above requires a big concerted effort)

#gameaudio and #godot friends,

presenting you an Audio Debug View for Godot

it's free to download and use (license details in the repo), this is still a work in progress, so feel free to open issues in case of encountered bugs, as I am hoping to develop it further

My latest cartoon for @newscientist.com
p.s. My new book of science cartoons 'Physics for Cats' is out this week. Details at www.tomgauld.com
Panel 1
A figure stands at a lectern
"This image illustrates my theory that, presented with a sufficient quantity of intricate formulae, overcomplicated diagrams and impenetrable acronyms, an audience will agree with almost anything."
The screen is completely packed with such things

Panel 2,3,4,5.
Four audience members say enthusiastically: "My thoughts exactly!", "Hear, hear!", "I quite agree!" and "Excellent point!"

Earlier this year, Dr. Jane Goodall sat down for an interview for Brad Falchuk’s new Netflix series, Famous Last Words.

The premise of the series is to interview people on the condition that the interview not air until the subject has passed away.

Thanks. I'd perhaps add sustainability to that.

Somewhat I agree with you.

Can you elaborate please?

Independently of your take on GenAI and how positive or skeptical you feel about it, I think this is a must read. Some good insights in there.

Newsletter: This is The Case Against Generative AI, a comprehensive analysis of a financial collapse built on myths I’ll dispel, the markets’ unhealthy obsession with NVIDIA's growth, and the fact that there is not enough money in the world to fund OpenAI.

Previous generation: influenced by radio, TV, music etc.

Current generation: influenced by social media.

Next generation: influenced by video games.

See the pattern?

No wonder where rich people are going to invest next. Elon is (supposedly) already a big gamer.

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to be a major owner of TikTok.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

I think it's becoming very annoying to hear technologists talk about art and how artists should work with new tools and technologies.

As if the person that invented the brush suddenly explained painters what is their job.

Unless of course, the inventor of the tool were an artist themselves.

I'm young (and old) enough to remember the Windows 98 presentation fail.

youtu.be/IW7Rqwwth84?...

Haven't used a printer for a while, do they still give people troubles?

And with this, I'm finally starting my weekend.

Lesson learned: stand up to any idiot, independently of their business or academic title.

(Yes, I had some interesting conversations on the work Slack today)

Of course I have nothing against people who have PhDs.

I have very smart friends who have it, and my partner also holds one (thankfully not in AI).
jgarciamartin.bsky.social
I was advocating for education recently. It helps us avoid getting manipulated sometimes.

But even having a PhD doesn't prevent anyone from being an idiot. I have seen people on LinkedIn who have had "PHD" misspelled on their profile for a long time, and nobody has told them to fix it.
