⏰ Thames Water’s future is hanging in the balance. Billions in debt could be written off for private owners and it could remain in private hands unless we act fast.

53,000+ of us are calling for nationalisation. Add your name: 38d.gs/tw_bs
Thames Water wants to block campaigners from speaking out against them?! Enough is enough. The Government must renationalise this failing water company. Agree? Sign the petition today:

Trump's drift towards Europe's dictators is indefensible. Britain’s future belongs with its democratic European partners, where closer cooperation on trade and security should be a priority.

Who looks at Trump’s chaos and dangerous stupidity and goes, "Oh yeah, that's great! I'll absolutely attach myself to that!"

When Nigel Farage is calling in sick and even fantasy hiker Dan Hannan is distancing himself from this absurd madman, you know MAGA and its uk acolytes are in trouble.

Norwegian PM StΓΈre says Trump repeatedly raisesβ€”complains about, pleads for, and demandsβ€”the Nobel Peace Prize every time they meet. StΓΈre gives same answer each time: decision is made independently by Norwegian Nobel Committee, with no role for Norwegian govβ€”a concept Trump appears unable to grasp.

Reminder to everyone: If a web page asks you to open PowerShell or press the windows key and "R" it is not a quick fix, it is not an urgent patch. It's a burglary where you open the door and let the criminal in. Don't fall for it. (from a LinkedIn post by the CEO of EscapeVelocity)

You have no idea of what my definition of appropriate conduct is, as I have not commented either way on that. I outlined why one group was proscribed, also without comment. Protests are quite permitted. Violent protests *in general* are not - the cause is immaterial. That is the situation.
January 13, 2026 at 2:50 PM
They haven’t. One specific group has been proscribed because they showed specific issues - breaking in to an airbase to damage planes, and a second break in where one of their members hit a police officer with a sledgehammer in the spine. Protests about Gaza are otherwise fine.

Which is also utter nonsense.

A British driver in Poland assaults cyclist with a baseball bat. Why? He pointed out to him he's going wrong way on one-way street and refused to let him through. Surprise: pepper spray is legal in Poland.

Suddently @cyclingmikey.bsky.social's encounters look a very relaxed in comparision :P

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.
January 3, 2026 at 3:34 PM
No isn’t. It’s a power cut to specific buildings.

#ictf25 - I've been trying to understand why I haven't connected to this panel talk by MS, but the truth is that it feels so unrelated to the business end of the University - this is a talk for the centre, not for the departments or colleges.
