I think it's more like the other way around. AGP was more like an expansion on what already existed since probably a very long time, it's basically how cishets rationalised erotic crossdressing without observing how shame feeds into the erotic & how being some kind of gender minority must come first

On one hand when I first came out I was shocked at how I was suddenly deemed an extreme pervert despite being a virgin. I clung to "transgender" to separate identity & actions.

But time & experience have shown me it's all connected. Even sex repulsed trans ppl are perverts. It's all one fight.

I'm a 30yo transsexual who came out 10ya. I say transsexual specifically because I changed my sex and not my gender.

It's not fair to jump to the conclusion of transmed unless someone has expressed those views.

But calling it outdated or icky cos it has "sex" in it come across as lacking understanding & perspective.

I hate when people are judgemental about facial hair and/or body hair because I grew up surrounded by that even then I was thinking "what's your problem?" (but I was very outnumbered).

The worst is when ppl say a moustache makes you look like a pdfile. If anything pdfiles are usually clean shaven!

To be clear, I have never argued that straight trans women should be understood as a type of gay man, even a female one. Rather that our conflation into homosexuality is a principle part of our oppression, and it happens not as an perceptual accident but the construction of transness itself.
