I'm always very open about the fact that I received SNAP benefits and Medicaid for a bit after I fled my abusive husband with my little kid in tow. I used it to help me start over in a new state and go back to school to get my BA. I now have a PhD.

No one is asking for perfect. That is a parameter YOU are forcing into the conversation.
Also "Better people" is too abstract. What is "better" to you?
I'm talking concrete actions. Here's an example:
Eliminate districts to eliminate gerrymandering.

When we say we're afraid of AI and robots, this is what we mean. Not some Terminator-style end of humanity, but a few billionaires, who were supposed to be "job creators", helping themselves instead of the people that do the actual work.

Women's right to vote was only granted after feminists bombed powerful men.
The Civil Rights Act only went through after Black people shut down D.C.

Ok, a lot of chucklefucks in here can't seem to grasp that the point of this post was that we lost the system of checks and balances that kept each branch of government from abusing it's power. That's what happens when the senate itself is gerrymandered, and not based on population like the house.
