When I Google Paradigm Shift, all I get is definitions.
More discussion is needed.
The presumption of regularity is gone.
The paradigm has shifted.
February 4, 2026 at 12:17 PM
When people say things like "You wouldn't think they'd <insert action>" it means the person is still coming from a backdrop of normality.
Today's "they" would absolutely do <action>.
Back in the day we called that a Paradigm Shift.
Now we're in one.
People, shift your paradigm or we're doomed.

The law is not powerful enough to stop a downpour of bad faith.
How does one stay dry, get above the storm, and blow away the dark clouds that are creating it?
Let’s say youve got valid ID and are even “happy” to show it, bith to register AND to get a ballot.

What are the obligations of the authorities to recognize your ID?

Where in the bill does it say what the punishment is for a bad faith rejection of your ID? www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ana...
New SAVE Act Bills Would Still Block Millions of Americans From Voting
The “show your papers” requirement is an attack on the freedom to vote.

Ezra Klein is one of the few people I'm on the fence about
I'm not the only one, and there are commenters on either side.
It's refreshing to see a civil discussion.
Sarah Lawrence kids shouting down Ezra Klein.

Because when you're facing a fascist takeover, shouting down a liberal at a college talk is definitely the way.

DC is my home town.
Much as my heart is broken already b/c ICE/CBP, DOGE etc., the thought of the Kennedy Center being ripped apart is ripping me apart anew.
And to think I used to angst about the Library of Alexandria being destroyed.
Today's madness feels as bad as that was.

Good mornin' all you. There's a chance I might go out for pizza at Ledo's today, an excursion greatly to be hoped for.

Unclench your jaw, gumshoes. Stretch that neck and those shoulders. Go walk around a little bit and eat something. It's ok to watch a video of a cute baby bunny hoppin around for a while. Hell, just imagine one. His tail is so puffy. Look! He's wiggling his nose!!! What's his name? Is it Buttons?!

I just heard how they train constitutional observers who record ICE/CBP. It's thorough, practical and wise. #Velshi showed it. I hope someone has a clip.

Us vs. Them is now the decent people vs. the unimaginable worst.

The things I've read in the last few days have made me wish I could cut out the parts of my brain where those words live.

I fixed it. I googled it and did what they said.
Sometimes something works.

Projection: I momentarily thought someone was saying this about him and then when I realized, I could almost see the words coming out of his mouth, hitting the bubble, and bouncing back onto him.
Trump on the Virginia governor: "I don't know how they get elected. The get elected because they cheat, if you want to know the truth. If they didn't cheat, they'd have no chance."

Golden age of Journalism right now. I'm callin' it.
I'm watching Kirschner and Klasfeld discuss Don Lemon's arrest.
I feel I know you, and Joyce Vance, Greg Olear, Nicolle, Chris, many more...
You outdo Cronkite and Murrow.
We see you as you are, you let us in, and we trust what you say.

Pretty much the most blatant possible violation of the 1st Amendment. The most obvious vindictive prosecution case too.

Is Susan Collins now going to give the regime her state's voting data and vote with the bad guys every time b/c shakedown quid pro quo?
Nice population you got there, it would be too bad if something happened to it.

I went out! The library beckoned me with a long-awaited book by Rhys Bowen. Then I went to the grocery store and bought cheese, chocolate, cashews, cake and some other things. Damn, there's a lot of snow out there!

You may have something there.
They search, show the orange guy what they did, then drop it.
Await further orders from the Oval Office.
They're humoring him.
Fake results to keep him occupied.
Meanwhile they ruin the country from other offices.
I heard. It figures. They've gotta feed trump some more revenge since he's been having a rough week, what with all the court cases they're losing and the outrage over ICE and other extrajudicial murders, etc...
