I’m staying in the same hotel in Sydney as the Israeli President. Had to show proof of reservation to the armed Police outside before entry. There’s two snipers on the parapet below my room window. The President has just gone out in a convoy of 19 vehicles with a bunch of folk armed to the teeth.

Good to see Guardian following up Democracy for Sale’s story about Labour Together paying a PR firm to investigate journalists

Key point: confirms our reporting McSweeney knew what was going on

When will Labour Together come clean about what happened?

The good thing about Rotorua in New Zealand is that if you farted in public no one would notice. There’s constant whiffs of sulphur anyway.

If Mandelson really told Starmer he barely knew Epstein, that was an epic whopper of a lie.

Here's Mandelson to Epstein in 2009: "You are the only person who knows everything about me. Don't go away".

Their relationship only got closer after 2009.

Outside and inside a Hobbit house at Hobbiton. They’re at 60% scale and brilliantly done. Made by the same people who worked on The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

Went out to sea on this amphibious speedboat. Owner reversed out the garage and drove 500m down the road and over the beach into the sea. Absolutely brilliant.

Adelaide is a slightly weird airport. International flights passengers have to go through security twice because the international area is an airport within an airport.

Devastating analysis. I had thought that the agent who removed Pretti’s gun negligently discharged it, the shot leading others to start shooting Pretti. Not even: they shot *after* disarming him. No shots were fired from Pretti’s gun. A cold-blooded execution.
