Elm Row is just a car-centric mess now. Could have been one of the nicest bits of public realm in Edinburgh.

I take it back. Been told the Spirit of Tasmania ferry (for the Australian Tasmania route) was built in Finland. Back there for repairs but had to be moved out before the sea freezes over for the winter. Now anchored in the Forth.
Spirit of Tasmania ferry anchored in the Firth of Forth. Presumably awaiting the next CalMac breakdown. Also another delivery of made in China wind turbine towers.

I’d be surprised if Frankie walks back in to the team. Barring injuries of course.

A must watch, if you like internet rivals, Elvis impersonators, karate instructors, organ-harvesting/ 9/11 conspiracies, and republican politics - The King's of Tupelo on Netflix.
Bizarrely compelling.

So a weird thing happened to me in Aldi that I cdn't quite place until I was listening to Gabby Bertin talking about choking in porn on the radio this am. (NB: this is 100% not a sex thing). Having the usual polite chitchat with the cashier who is tired from working extra shifts to make £ for xmas..

Worth a read. Mainly about how EPL middle ranked clubs are using data to upset the big boys with a mention or two for Brighton and Tony Bloom. #JamTarts

Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

The professional experience of the new Chair and Directors is a healthy sign. Right too I think for Ann Budge to step down from the Board although I’m sure she’ll still be in the Directors Box every home game. Many examples of dysfunctional Boards ruining a club so getting this right is essential.
🚨 Major Hearts board update 🚨

♦️ New chairman appointed is Calum Paterson
♦️ Ann Budge appointed honorary president
♦️ Budge won't be on the board going forward
♦️ Ralph Findlay OBE to replace Kevin Windram
♦️ Paterson and Findlay both Jambos
Hearts board update: New chairman revealed, Ann Budge honour, new director
Heart of Midlothian have confirmed the appointment of a new chairman, replacing Ann Budge, who will move into a new role as honorary president.

A good way to piss off car dealers. There’s a good market in 3 year old Motability cars.
This from X is a striking example of what I argue in today’s column. Reform and the Tories are out here gleefully saying disabled people on Motability should be forced to drive a 3-wheeler, like a scarlet letter. The stigma is not an accident - it’s the design.

Brendan Rodgers says Hearts have a "big advantage" in that they only play once a week.

He also made comment about Hearts' DNA and that Celtic didn't become winners playing that way.
