I replaced my old laptop with a Framework 13 I had been eyeing a bit earlier than I had originally planned because I feared something like this would happen...

Why the "we'll just make everything here" crowd is wrong. Even raw materials, production tools, distribution logistics overhead, etc. always end up requiring something to be imported. To truly be self-sufficient, you have to have _everything_ available in-country and that just won't happen.
