I’m proud of our Prime Minister. He said what’s needed to be said. Will the international community of middle powers build a coalition in response to his call?
Carney’s speech is fantastic and lyrical, and it’s overdue to have a G7 leader finally say out loud what we’ve all felt. Draws heavily on Stubb’s pragmatic realism, and reminds me of Bob Rae’s thinking and turns of phrase

Trump’s tariff deals are meaningless if he can unilaterally impose new sets of tariffs on a whim. It’s time for broad economic sanctions and consumer boycotts against the USA. Short term pain for long term gain.

Why in an age of AI, doe’s autocorrect (it just did it again) foul up my writing constantly, embarrassing me in the process (it tried to make this “Professor“)? AI is injecting itself everywhere except where it’s needed most.

Perhaps I'm late with this, but I find this metaphor quite striking. The contamination of information sources by AI has profound implications that may leave a residue through history that we will deeply regret. rajiv.com/blog/2025/03...

My family helped with a local food drive on the West Island of Montreal yesterday. We were overwhelmed with the generosity we experienced this year. Times are tough and many are rising to the occasion. Thanks to all who gave!

The headline should have ended at “Trump says he does not think.”
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his reportedly tense meeting with Trump on Friday was "positive" even though he did not secure the Tomahawk missiles for his military.

Maud Menten was born in Canada in 1879 and completed her UG and MD education at University of Toronto. As a research assistant with Leonor Michaelis in 1912, they wrote the classic paper describing the “Michaelis-Menten” model of enzyme kinetics.. #WomenInScience

Doesn’t it seem that Trump’s modus operandi is alway to find someone to hold hostage to get his way? He literally cares about no one.

This is why we should tax them for all their digital transactions. Through their algorithms and misinformation, they create value from our attention. Their profits are our losses, both as individuals and communities. They must compensate us for the mining of the public good. Tax them until it hurts.

I rarely give a book 5 stars. The Family Roe (2021) by Joshua Prager deserves it because it is not only a very solid and engaging book, it also changed me. The story of Norma McCorvey(aka Jane Roe) is complex, as are the lives of so many others implicated in the Roe vs Wade story and legacy. #books
