I do not believe anything she says. There is a self serving agenda behind every word.

Doesn’t it seem that Trump’s modus operandi is alway to find someone to hold hostage to get his way? He literally cares about no one.

This is why we should tax them for all their digital transactions. Through their algorithms and misinformation, they create value from our attention. Their profits are our losses, both as individuals and communities. They must compensate us for the mining of the public good. Tax them until it hurts.

I've been stuck in a meeting for the last several hours. Did I miss the rapture? Was I not invited?

I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to not only know more about Roe vs Wade and the people involved, but to those who want to learn from the experiences of others, especially those who's lives and challenges are so different from what we experience in our lives.

This book sheds light on complicated, damaged, and very real people - mostly centred on Norma, but also with a diverse cast of characters in the pro-life and pro-choice movements. The book shows people at their best and worst, always with writing that reflects humanity and empathy.

I rarely give a book 5 stars. The Family Roe (2021) by Joshua Prager deserves it because it is not only a very solid and engaging book, it also changed me. The story of Norma McCorvey(aka Jane Roe) is complex, as are the lives of so many others implicated in the Roe vs Wade story and legacy. #books

I completely agree. This book was phenomenally engaging and informative and brought me into the the world of non-fiction, especially historical and biographical. I’ve read well over a thousand books since, loving every minute of it, but nothing has risen to this standard.

This article about the decline and fall of social media is thought provoking and suggests some hopeful and constructive ways forward, although I doubt we can't count on big tech to lead the way. www.noemamag.com/the-last-day...

This is my go-to place in Montreal. I think I may have single-handedly paid for Adrian’s eventual retirement with the number of books I’ve bought from The Word over the last 30 years.

For generations of McGill students, The Word Bookstore on Milton Street has been almost as familiar a landmark as the Roddick Gates or the Redpath Museum. Adrian King-Edwards, BA’71, the bookshop’s co-founder and owner, shares some memories mcgillnews.mcgill.ca/a-little-boo...

I am very saddened by news of the passing of Ken Dryden. Over my time at McGill, I had the opportunity to spend some time with him. While many know of his athletic and public service accomplishments, fewer know about his deep dedication to higher education. He will be missed. #mcgill

Two “perfect” kids live selfishly ever after… while The Handmaid’s Tale comes true and Danielle Smith loses her job for rolling back women’s rights.

Exactly right. Like many populist politicians, he twists the values of the people he’s supposed to serve. In his case it’s “We stand on guard for ME”.
