#Febchantment Most of my stuff is science or pseudoscience. Some of the magic stuff would be FTL - Faster than light, Inertial Suppression - the thing that stops people getting turned into paste when ships accelerate at 50G, G - gravity ha. There are a bunch, but should all be explained in story 😊

For my sci-fi spacey "magic" it's all physics and chemistry. Pop two things together and see what the explosion makes! Sometimes the explosion is actually just gradual warming. Sometimes you get to blow a hole in a dormant volcano...

Oh this is a fun one.
The visible antagonist "The Rec" starts off as a tool, becomes a prison warden and then something else. It does horrid things, but has some of the most enjoyable interactions, so in some ways, it's my favourite character.

Oh this is a fun one.

I worked out a way to write more. Force myself to write horrible Statues Erode with it's "real people" and gritty lived in SciFiness.
Then reward myself with a half hour wind down of Alan creating art with human organs as she starts a one Narfian crusade to take down humanity! 😁

The "magic system" in Statues Erode has rules, mostly based on my limited (but I promise I'm reading a lot) understanding of physics.
If a thing has absolutely zero scientific grounding, it can't happen. But rule of cool beats "is it easy to do". If it *could* happen, it might happen.

So for SE I try to get an idea of what the scene needs, who is in it, focus only on the POV character and try to "be" that character until a response requires a switch up. So it's like a double pass I guess - director mode, then one on one with the "actor."

Original Elara was super prepped. Med bag bouncing on hip prepped. Full fledged Elara, not at all. Very reactionary. She knows that she has all of those items, but will have to turn the room even more upside downerer(?) to find anything.

Elara has a good, though slightly distant relationship with her folks (only child) Their adventuring days are behind but they left her with a love of exploration, which is why she is ready for the next phase, not the working for Titanis phase we meet her in.

Elara has a good, though slightly distant relationship with her folks (only child) Their adventuring days are behind but they left her with a love of exploration, which is why she is ready for the next phase, not the working for Titanis phase we meet her in.

I don't know if this counts because I hate describing appearance, but you get a giveaway on her mood by how hastily she sorted her hair. If good day, she spends a pinch of time on it, but she not super invested in it unless she is making a special effort. She is mostly covered in ship grime 😂

Oh if we assume that the antagonist is the Rec, then it's probably closest to Elara (MC) and no it doesn't care about what she thinks, unless her thoughts are useful to it. It is "happy" enough to manipulate her into thinking things. But it's not a big fan of the independent thinking element.

Oh if we assume that the antagonist is the Rec, then it's probably closest to Elara (MC) and no it doesn't care about what she thinks, unless her thoughts are useful to it. It is "happy" enough to manipulate her into thinking things. But it's not a big fan of the independent thinking element.
