People are talking about Rob Reiner as a director which they should. But I think he also deserves some credit as an actor. Specially his role in Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street where he delivers one of the Top 10 funniest scenes in that movie.

I can't make sense of a world in which Despelote—one of the very best games of this year or any other, as deeply moving as it is aesthetically adventurous—is sitting under 500 Steam reviews. Why don't you give yourself an early gift this holiday?
few more reviews for despelote to hit 500 and overwhelmingly positive 🙏🏽

Excited to see him address this on Donald Glover’s next show.

Will Arnett was on Conan and told a story about how Conan dealt with the death of his parents by accusing Jason Bateman of killing them. It’s so funny.

In this week's issue of Check Book, I wrote about the best home video release on the market; Stanley Kubrick's love for Woody's early, funny ones; cages full of cats & dogs working it out; a spy master's failed pitch; and spaghetti dinners and late night go-karting with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

Best case scenario: In their ongoing efforts to work with every famous auteur, Netflix runs Warner Bros. as a theatrical business.

Worst case scenario: Netflix spends so much money on auteur movies that they cancel Is This Cake

Lists are good. If they list things you like, a sense of community forms between you and the maker—cherish the feeling. If they list things you haven't heard of, well, novel experiences await you, my friends. And if they list things you hate, your group chats will soon have notifications silenced.
