I see no slowdown in the “idea machine.” This shilling article is just embarrassing.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?

“141 Minutes Until an Unfinished Sentence.” We’ve been watching our way through the ouevre of the great, mostly forgotten Hungarian director, Zoltan Fábri. If you get a chance to see “The Fifth Seal,” his anti-fascist masterpiece from 1976, don’t miss it.
Name the last film you've seen.

My eye was drawn to the way the media companies dived into streaming “with no game plan.” Immediate echoes of AI with no game plan and other big swings that are bad for consumers and the economy as a whole. As Hank Green pointed out, the dot com bubble was about being all-in for the internet but 1/2

It’s almost impossible for me to take a good pic of my husband. The minute I aim a lens at him, he freezes. But after dinner, with a good day behind us, we managed.

This madness incentivizes news companies to tilt the news for more profitable outcomes. I mean FURTHER incentivizes.

Ah. Good bye spooney, Juney Moon.

Stoppard was massively important to me as a young writer, and remains a model of the way you can be both passionate and clever. I am grateful I did get to see one of his plays—his last one, as it happened—in its first Broadway production.
Damn.

Tom was, all round, a scholar and a gent. My dad envied his quietly perfect artist’s wardrobe and treasured his friendship. As did I.

Travel well. I hope the wine’s okay.
Tom Stoppard, playwright of dazzling wit and playful erudition, dies aged 88

I love that renewables are winning just with price and utility now. We seem to suck as a species with doing things out a sense of mission and forethought, but we love being cheap and creative.
One thing I'm super excited about: when the plug-in solar market gets big enough in the US, I think you'll start seeing some differentiation in products—ie, panels that are different sizes & shapes designed for different spots & applications. Can't wait to see what people come up with.
