Things went sideways real fast.

This looks less like a kink thing and more of a thing you do when you want your trafficked girls to be pretty without giving them a chance to tell someone what's going on. With a side of creep. futurism.com/future-socie...

Based on the discourse on even more cursed social networks, it would appear that memory safety is woke, and real men cast all their pointers to void* to fix compiler errors. (They don't actually maintain open source projects, but the maintainers owe them compliance in this matter.)

I'm not sure if it's the weight I've already lost or the metabolic effects of calorie restriction, but I cannot handle it being less than 70F/21C in the house this year.

On the plus side, my cat's favorite place to be is sitting on my legs, so I think I'll make it through the winter.

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

I assume most officers in SOCOM already don't vacation in Rome Convention countries, but someone needs to make an example out of one of them. Make the Pentagon schedule remedial classes on the laws of armed conflict.

I prefer the frame "Is ChatGPT less conscious than the people who think it's conscious?" to which there's a straight-faced argument that the answer is "no" without denigrating the consciousness of the rest of us.

Honestly it's not really surprising that the creator of a framework that's mostly used for API glue these days is really excited about tech that sucks at everything except writing API glue for you.

I logged on for the first time in 24 hours and people are obliquely referring to something horrible that they regret seeing, so I'm just going to go to sleep and not find out what it was.

I just divested from the last of my stock that came from options that make things complicated enough to make me not trust completely doing them myself, specifically because the AI bubble bursting will tank that stock, so I'm going to have to deal with this product one last time in a few months.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.
