A 15th Century royal proclamation in Scots from Scots The Mither Tongue. It illustrates the official Scots of the period and reveals
the “lang pedigree” of our unquestionable claim to be the home of football. I narrate the whole history of your language in the Audible version of the book.

Belonging to a Scoto-Portuguese family, I hope we avoid each other in the draw this afternoon. This was @joaokay.bsky.social and I before the Scotland v Portugal match at Hampden…by far the greatest 0-0 draw in the history of fitba. Having in house Italians, I want to avoid them too, please. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇵🇹🇮🇹

Lithgow wis better kennt in Lanark as Lugless Wull - his lugs haein been cuttit aff by the irate brithers o a lassie he’d had a liaison wi as a lad. In later life, when asked aboot the pain, he confessed that it could hae been meikle waur - it could have been a lot worse!!
Lithgow was the first Scottish travel writer. Poland was a favourite destination and a home from home:
"And for auspiciousness I may rather term it to be a mother and nurse for the youth and younglings of Scotland who are yearly sent hither in great numbers, than a proper Dame for her own birth..."
Sir William Lithgow on 17th Scots in Poland. "Here I found abundance of gallant rich merchants, my countreymen who were all very kind to me, and so were they by the way in every place where I came, the conclusion being ever sealed with deep draughts and ‘God be with you’"

Scotland needs more carers, but Westminster is driving them away.

Labour’s hostile immigration plans and their tax on jobs are hammering Scotland’s social care sector.

With the fresh start of independence, we can build a migration system suited to our needs and interests.

Europe is closing the tap on Russian fossil fuels once and for all.

Energy independence starts now.

I’m beginning to believe Nigel Farage may well be the next UK PM.

The fact the media are giving him a pass for hissing into the ears of his Jewish schoolmates makes me think it’s already decided.

No other politician of any party survives that.

We need out this Union.
