My wife has taken to calling it “The Epstein Room of Balls”, which is…so much worse.
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

This is the good stuff. Rooting for this guy to make me proud of my home state again.

Jimmy Carter gave the commencement speech at Rice University my freshman year there. I remember he was introduced as, “The only person who has used the presidency of the United States as a stepping stone to greater things.” That’s my enduring memory of the man. He exemplified how one uses a life.

Last weekend, my family invented a new driving game:
CYBERSLUG
It’s the same as Punchbuggy, but you punch your neighbor in the arm when you see a Cybertruck.
Call out the color when you do it, e.g. “Cyberslug black!” Or “camo!” Or (usually) “silver!”
Two for flinching rule is in effect.

I met my friend Doug in grad school. He offered to stomp on my new white sneakers to make them a little less shiny. He was an econ genius who wrote his own piano music but also regularly got thrown out of bars. Smoked but always gave it up for lent. Hilarious. Left us in his 30s, always remembered.
