it really is so so bleak, and the trapped feeling just stays in your stomach the entire time.

So many horror films of the '00s had a real mean streak to their terror. This, the French Extremity films, the Feast franchise, *all* the classic remakes, so much acid in the water at that time.

There's something appealing to the bleakness of it all, can be hard watching though.

Wow wow wow, Phantasm is brilliant. 10/10 music.

The melancholy of adolescence and fear of death. The Tall Man is such a potent force of cosmic and mechanical evil. Whether you read as literal or explore deeper themes, it is fantastic either way.

Perfect ending.

God this was a blast in theatres, we had such a fun crowd who were so on its wavelength.

The neon green demons are such an inspired design. They rock so hard.

A bummer we haven't gotten more Tales from the Crypt movies!
