Absolutely nothing new is said here, but I adore this game. One of my all-timers.

Because it's a 'remaster', I've left it out of conversations of best of the year, but my own 'personal' feelings, it's my 2nd favorite thing released in 2025.
I really do think The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered deserves more love than it received this year. It kinda got overshadowed by everything else.

I had personally so many hours of fun with this game. Like close to 100+ I really LOVED it!

What an impressive remaster. 😍

Also, how the hell does this not have a proper UHD release yet?

What the fuck, man lol.

Gave Mildred Pierce a watch last night. Absolutely wow'd over Crawford. Didn't expect an absolute all-timer immortal performance quite like this. Just the absolute hellish affair of being a mother and a spouse clashing, leaving nothing but a heartbroken, exhausted void.

When your cousin is like "hey, you'll appreciate this one"

*Turns to show me a 100-percent AI-created pile of shit called "What if Spielberg directed The Shining"*

*Me yelling in abject horror*

I wrote about the wonderful Siskel & Ebert for its 50th anniversary at @ebertvoices.bsky.social, along with a deep bench of incredible writers. Reading through these made me emotional:

One of my most skeptical criticisms from the mob (gamers) is saying a game has 'shit writing'. I see writing in a game as something that maintains the world and characters as consistent and fitting the style/tone of that world. Writing that doesn't betray its core themes? A clear, consistent voice.

Playing through The Outer Worlds 2 for some reason has me itching for a re-play of a very ... imperfect, yet wonderful game. It's frustrating mechanically, but it's one of the best examples of player agency/choice i've ever seen in any game.
