There we go! 17 May is Norway's national day, so I threw this piece together sometime last year before hopping over to Bluesky. iirc, I was inspired by a news story involving immigrants customizing their bunads to reflect their country of origin, so Viola is wearing a mix based on that there.

17th of May celebration. Three characters are dressed in celebratory national costumes. Marthe (the gray haired girl on the left) is dressed in a heavily customized bunad dripping with game and anime references (Pokemon, Zelda, Dragon Ball, Hunter X Hunter, Xenoblade 3 and Sonic among them). So much so that traditionalists would seethe with rage at the very sight of it. She looks excited at Viola's costume. Gaill (blue spiky-haired boy in the center) is wearing a fairly basic suit (I don't care for male bunads, sue me) with a flag ribbon on it. He looks bewildered at Marthe's bunad. Viola (violet haired girl on the right with more controlled hair than usual) is wearing an experimental hispanic hybrid bunad. She is also expressing confusion at Marthe's choice in clothing.

I don’t mind Youtubers doing relevant videos for the sake of higher views and such. Especially gaming videos about an older game in a series when a new entry in that series is launching soon. But that specific type of video essay actually pisses me off now. It barely rose before it fell in my favor.

It's just garbage meant to suckle on the teat of the algorithm for views. Pokemon ZA can sell a mill less than Scarlet and Violet did on launch day and we'll see 300 of those "rise and fall of Pokemon" videos, only for the sales numbers to even out over the next couple days. I hate it here...

I swear the most annoying kind of video I see pop up in my Youtube feed is very clearly reactionary "The rise and fall of *insert topical game/company*". That video will be obsolete in the very near future, so why bother? I'm not even interested in post mortems anymore. And they STICK. Urgh...

God I just had to pick a really emotional scene to work on before going to bed... At 5 am...
I feel like I've posted this exact post some time before. Deja vu... Oh well. If I've made myself misty eyed more than once before bed, I must be working with good stuff... I've said that before too. Fuck.

I believe Xenoblade 2 did that (in 2018) to make sure the lipflaps fit both the Japanese and English dubs... Though thinking about it now, it was probably following the text of the script rather than scanning the sound file... I dunno. Head is mush like I said.

I'm struggling to remember concrete examples right now because my head is mush, but I think some games have Ai driven lipflaps that scans the soundfile and moves the mouth appropriately... Probably some other neat examples out there.

I'll be clear: Art of all kinds that use Generative Ai, the stuff being forced down our throats that's bad for the environment, is slop and its all dead to me. However, there were Ai in the "before times" that was good and useful and hasn't been turned to shit. That's what I'm optimistic about.

I'll withold judgement until I see details. I have some issues with Kojima even if I enjoy his work, so it's not like I can't see him falling for this crap. But there are some software with 'actually' smart and useful Ai tools that isn't the bad and stupid kind, so I'm hoping that's what he means.

I remember when Masahiro Sakurai spoke about Ai and was thorougly misunderstood because of rushed translation... This seems clearer, and doesn't 'seem' to be about "generative Ai", even though it touches on it. It doesn't look like he's talking about using chat gpt to replace his team or anything.

I don't know IF Hollow Knight is known for being all that hard, but regardless, the difficulty curve is WAY more graceful than Silksongs. But I can feel that my skills have transferred. The controls are a smidge clunkier (I miss holding-dash) but it's not bad at all. I can get used to it.

I just feel that if there's all this complaining about Silksong being SO hard compared to Hollow Knight, and I... Haven't exactly considered the difficulty to be THAT high... I should be able to just plow through it, right?

And I finally got 100% in Silksong. I haven't done EVERYTHING yet, like the hunting log or a couple bosses or whatever, but I've got everything that matters to me, and now I'm going after the final boss. After that is done, I think I'm gonna shred through Hollow Knight.

I finally got around to draw this. Elphelt Valentine from Guilty Gear. One of my favorite characters of all time. Might be the most intensive illustration I have done in a while. Though I don't see this becoming a regular thing... Buuuut you never know...

I think they’re underestimating how much the pandemic screwed with our sense of time too. 2 years kinda just vanished, and they don’t seem to understand that… And development time/budgets have bloated to the length of the average console gen, so there’s that too.

I hate how true this is. I remember arguing with someone, posting irrefutable proof of my position and them going «tldr» at how long and wordy it is and expecting me to continue arguing as if he was allowed to disregard reality. Truly the biggest idiot I’ve ever spoken to.

The problem with left-leaning media is they're intrinsically more strict with their propaganda to only using verifiable sources so it's really hard to poke holes in their ideology and arguments in comparison to a lot of low quality rightwing content.
That makes attacking their points with fact checkers not very effective unless the fact checkers use misinformation tactics as well.
In essence people on the right have to work harder and more creatively to push their agendas as statistics and studies frustratingly arent usually on our side.
