As Black History Month approaches, a reminder that HORROR NOIRE, the best-reviewed documentary of 2019, is at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, but is still not “Certified Fresh” because there are only 38 reviews (RT says limited release movies require 40). Is this the year? Will you answer the call?

Book #50 for the year!

Finishing off the year in style with my second favorite author! (A very close second to Stephen King!)

Rewatching this for a podcast interview tomorrow. If you’ve not seen RAVENOUS, you’ve missed a gem. This embedded narrative performed by the amazing Robert Carlyle and the cave scene that follows it contain some of the best horror of the past thirty years.

Can't share the title because that would give away the surprise, but I just finished an EPIC 203,000-word rough draft that's a combination of the following genres:

--Sci-fi
--Dystopian
--Horror
--Action/Adventure
--Romance
--Western
--Noir

I can't wait for you to experience this tale!

Regarding VEIL.
Some solid truth here in #sundaysentence for this week, from the fun and creepy new one by @jonathanjanz.bsky.social: "No virtue breeds as much trouble as honesty." (& HNY to all my fellow compulsive readers & sentence obsessives, & thanks for all the amazing writing and recommendations you shared!)

Artist Taylor Gibbs painted my character Dreamy the Droll (featured in the FEAR OF CLOWNS anthology), and I'm dying. Isn't this glorious?!

Speaking of “Lenora.”
Next, Lenora by Jonathan Janz (@jonathanjanz.bsky.social). This one’s about a man who had experienced unimaginable tragedy before the end of the world having some experiences that allow him to move through it. Sad and scary and sweet.

In my story “Lenora” (in THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT: NEW TALES OF STEPHEN KING’S THE STAND), Baker Ludlow has one picture of his late wife, which is based on a real picture of my wife and me back when we were dating. Here are the passage and the picture:

Top Ten Books of 2025
I reviewed a lot of books this year. As I was putting this list together, I had to make a lot of tough choices. There were books that I really wanted to put in the top 10 but others beat them out. …
