Interesting question from @memike1.bsky.social about the #Stonehenge theories of Bob Davis (end of thread below) I think this summarises the state of play, but would anyone else like to weigh in on Bob's ideas?
With that background, anything anyone else says (however qualified they believe themselves to be) is just personal opinion. I've never met Bob in person, but he's said to be a great character and now lives in Lewes.

I wrote about the fake account blowup on X this weekend. A genuine post-truth nightmare and proof that these companies have polluted their platforms so thoroughly and traded reality for profit that they've undermined the very idea of what the internet is supposed to be.
Having a laugh trying to get an Air Source Heat Pump installed. All the installers say the proposal automatically falls under PD and pre-Planning say it needs permission. Nobody knows whether to apply for an LDC or Planning. Thinking of asking the Planning Officer, but counter-productive?

Spent time in Ikea yesterday. We worked out the game shortcuts easily. Also stand by the disabled door to get in first (though everyone else knew that).
Then off to Wing Yip, where my 26yr old son got carded for attempting to buy sauce that had alcohol in it.

I've always felt that the existence of the algorithms - and thus an implicit editorial function (especially apparent on X and Facebook), makes the argument that they're not publishers quite hard to swallow.

Drawing up plans for a heat pump (maybe two in same property!). Years ago, I wrote my own spreadsheets for heat loss evaluation, so able to compare ideas easily. But God knows how people who aren't engineers compare contractors.
