This is quite a hed/subhed.
1) Start with Vance. Use strong action verb. Accept the autocratic premise that the “Marines’ Might” are Vance’s to flex.
2) Mention the protest second and absurdly describe them as in the thousands
3) Treat Trump’s strong man use of the military as a partisan scuffle.
Scenes from the Boyd ladies’ participation in today’s #NoKings protests in Chicago. The kazoo and tambourine are their preferred instruments of joyful noise in resistance.

A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

I was curious to see if any notes from Thiel’s private lectures would be made public.

Super convenient interpretive framework that sees any form of external regulation of his hoarding of
capital as the hastening of the antichrist.
Regulating AI hastens the Antichrist, says Palantir’s Peter Thiel
Tech billionaire claims in a lecture about religion that the devil promises peace and safety by strangling technological progress with regulation

For their first project, my Kids and Society students have to create an infographic clarifying a common misconception about "kids these days." I'd prefer that they not use AI to create their projects, so I made my own infographic explaining why : )

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to be a major owner of TikTok.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

People use fascism loosely to speak of that which they dislike, but the term has a meaning. Most reductively: cult of personality; nationalism; eroticized violence, internal enemies, purity myths, politicized gender.
And not just kids, of course.
In a world obsessed with productivity, delight can feel countercultural, but it’s essential. Children flourish when they’re seen and enjoyed for who they are. That begins with intentional choices: putting away distractions, meeting them eye-to-eye, creating moments that say, I’m glad you’re here.

I haven't had time to read up on the latest shooting, but I'm going to post my incredibly radical position that a shooting is bad no matter who did it and no matter who was shot.

Stop trying to crack the code of a shooter's motives and focus on the one thing they all have in common -- the guns.

Donald Trump is attempting to impose his authoritarian rule across the United States.

Sending troops to cities against their will is unconstitutional and un-American.

Stand up, speak out, and be loud against it.
