I was wrong:

She's the 3rd woman to write the title (Ann Nocenti, #295; which I remembered) & the 2nd to have a run (Kelly Thompson, #878-879 & 892; which slipped my mind). Justina Ireland's 3 issues will be much closer together but she is the 2nd. This is not a Nick Lowe quote, it’s my mistake.

I’m not sure I realized the prologue to “The Fellowship of the Ring” is written by an unnamed character when I first read it as a high school freshman.

“Concerning Hobbits” is a cute introduction but it’s also literally an in-universe anthropological report.

This nerd thinks that’s very cool.

The Utah Legislature, which has a Republican super majority, changed the law earlier this year to make it legal to openly carry a gun on college campuses. Used to be concealed carry w/ permit.

We all need to be strong enough to listen, declare: ‘I’d rather live in a better word than what you’re describing.’, and move on.

Comic Networking Tip. This has been said before, but it’s worth saying again - being kind and helpful to others in the community is rule number one. It’s a small pond. People talk and want to work with good people who are also talented.
But also, we should all try to be kinder anyway.

My statement on the latest charges against members of Mayor Adams’ inner circle.

“While New Yorkers struggle to afford the most expensive city in America, Eric Adams and his administration are too busy tripping over corruption charges to come to their defense. Corruption isn’t just about what a politician gains, it’s about what the public loses. And right now, New Yorkers are paying the price as another flurry of indictments continue to erode their trust in our democracy and distract from the affordability crisis that demands action and urgency. In retrospect, “Captain America: The First Avenger” sort did it, right? That one’s a bit too on the nose for me though. That and “Annabelle: Creation” feel really like a swing and a miss, by comparison.
