Epstein Files #...5055. 2 page note that records what a fellow SHU inmate told the government (feds?) about the days leading up to Epstein's "suicide". Note 2-hr gaps (shift durations) on guards checking on inmates. Found the version that was not redacted.

Our democracy works best when we all can participate. That’s why I voted against the SAVE America Act, which could disenfranchise millions of women who changed their last name after marriage. I didn't come to Congress to watch my daughter's generation have fewer rights than mine.

NEW: “CBS Evening News” producer Alicia Hastey sends a bombshell farewell note:

Stories are “evaluated not just on their journalistic merit but on whether they conform to a shifting set of ideological expectations.”

Khanna: There were two rounds of redactions. There was the original FBI redactions… and they did a second round of redactions at the DOJ. What they’re showing members now is the unredacted version of the DOJ’s redactions—not the original FBI redactions. They’re in blatant violation of the law.

Trump had angry Bondi distracting everybody today. My guess is that Thursday we will wake up to Trump doing 1) new tariffs or 2) bombing somebody

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

Epstein files! When an incredibly rich person offers you the chance to have a massage that will “drive a man wild”, it’s more than helping you with that sore shoulder from moving an IKEA couch. Duh.

Today during JET interviews an interviewee used YOLO and FOMO in her replies. Good thing I happened to look up those terms last night.

This is the "gun" that Trump, Noem, Bovino, and every other administration official claims the victim was brandishing that justified him being pushed, tackled, shot, and killed.

A phone.

I'm re-reading Miyamoto Hirohito's excellent article on the origins of the word "manga" and I wonder if we, in English, can boil things down this way. So, the stupid translation of manga as "random pictures"... it's not "random". It's relentlessly curious. "Manga" artists were always on the hunt

Assuming we're still around as a country in a few years, can we all agree on this: no more electing men past 70 to POTUS. Christ, no more grandpas in the WH. (I could actually be okay with an older lady for POTUS though..)

I think we’ve got better and more culturally-varied street food than I could have imagined, cool jackets galore, and drugs that make us think we’re really fast and strong before they kill us.
we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)
