that person's threaded replies to other valid counterpoints suggest to me that they are not to be listened to or taken seriously

I do wonder about the fears that developers would be targetted by these people. I wonder what the volume of this harassment is behind the scenes -- and whether pulling out of this game idea would stop or even slow it to begin with.

Indie game devs: Games press aren't covering us
Freelance game journos: Games devs won't give us time unless we're IGN/Game Informer

There's truth in both of these takes. Simply meeting in the middle isn't that easy, either. The overall online ecosystem is taxing everyone.

I'll add, because this needs emphasising, that good journalists will *never* twist your words out of context. They may editorialise around them, expand on that context, but good journalists will never make it sound like you said something you didn't. 'Gotcha' journalism is not journalism.

Excellent and important reminder from Chris here. Journalists will be as friendly as possible, and will take reasonable edit requests seriously, but ultimately their responsibility is to the facts and their readers, not companies' PR/marketing agendas. (Thankfully, most companies know this)

I've seen a lot more of games media people these days refer to themselves as being part of or in the games industry. Respectfully: if you are a real journalist, you are not a part of the games industry. You're reporting on it.

ESA Canada & its global counterparts have published a new Power of Play report highlighting the positive impacts of games on players beyond entertainment.
Chatted with ESAC about the Canadian findings, which are pretty interesting. (Apparently, we like puzzle games more than the rest of the world!)
New report highlights gaming's positive impacts on Canadians
The global Power of Play survey shows how games are much more than just a source of entertainment.

Hit credits in Hades 2. Lots to chew on, but also that really isn't the "ending" so much as a very consequential mid-season break, huh?
