Phones got good enough that you don't need new hardware every 1-2 years to keep up. New phones are getting more expensive and offer nothing (why would I want an "AI phone?"). The only thing they have to entice me is a fresh battery. (Our phones should be easier to repair!)

Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

If they ever make that Horizon Zero Dawn movie or TV series, Don Callis should play Ted Faro.

People who smoke cigarettes say, "unless you're a smoker, you don't know how hard it is to quit." Yes I do. It's as hard as it is to start flossing.

The Switch 2 GameCube controller is really neat, but it sure would be nice if the new buttons were fully sized to make them as practical to use as on the Pro Controller.

I will endeavor to write in an even more obtuse style filled with non sequitur references in response to this.
Saw a post today that advised writers to stop writing as if a human will read it and start writing for an LLM that will be summarising.

As someone who really enjoyed trying to develop a peculiar but readable authorial voice, I find this incredibly depressing.

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.
