Best long albums? Spacemen 3 'Recurring' has to be up there.
I’d narrow it down to just Rule 1.
Has to fit on a C90, although I could cope with 50 mins on a AR100.
And frankly anything over 45 mins has to justify our time and patience, imo only The Cure’s Disintegration is good enough.

There are only three acceptable lengths for an album:
1) 45 mins (one side of a C90)
2) Around 74 mins (CD or MiniDisc capacity)
3) 90 mins for a double (tape again)
I don't record to / burn any of these formats anymore. But still.

A chat I had for @psychmag.bsky.social ... some people say I overthink stuff myself, but actually I think about them exactly the right amount, so there...

Show just starting on untidyradio.com! Tune in! First up: Train Not Stopping by Harper Lee - a post-Sarah song as beautiful as anything released between 1987 and 1995.

"This is the last stop,
the emptiest platform
The final walk home
in a rainstorm"

Quite a few more Sarah-related tracks to follow!

Chris Hemsworth has just said on Graham Norton that he has seen Wedding Crashers "more than a hundred" times. I suspect the real number is no more than 16.

@soniccathedral.bsky.social Hi Nat, starting to plan my London Chapterhouse trip (already with a spare ticket due to my second born preferring a trip to Crete)... do you know yet whether it will be a normal kind of 11pm curfew?

The task my dreamworld just gave me: write a 2000 word essay, and record the audio version, on the question 'What is Psychology?', in one hour, to placate a criminal gang who were most perturbed there was no such thing on our website. Actually quite impressed with what my sleeping mind produced...

You may be aware that I love little more than turning to a fellow movie go-er and stage whispering "The name of the film!!" at the appropriate point. Has there ever been one that afforded that opportunity more than 'No Other Choice'?

This encapsulates what I've been saying about AI, both in terms of how critical the 'hallucination' issue is, and Stewart Lee saying about attempts to rein in its use "it's gone, it's done".

@dannykellywords.bsky.social Nerdy question: in the discussion over who popularised the term 'Britpop', names usually in the frame are Stuart Maconie, John Robb. But you used it in a review of @weddingpresent.bsky.social 'George Best' in '87. That's got to be a pretty early use, right?
