i think this goes to show that things will pretty much always look terrible at first, it's mostly about //getting started// and refining/reiterating on it until it looks good

When Balto came out I was in love with the animation. Unfortunately I couldn't draw quadrupeds to save my life because I rarely drew them and perspective was difficult to understand. Still is. Drew this in 2002 and I remember struggling so much with it. the sketch i did it in my 10 mins.

don't think i've ever had a single question of mine answered straightforwardly by reddit ever, no idea why it became the #1 place to go when all they do is just snarkily tell you to "google it" (how i got there in the first place)
