Joining Dawgcast was truly one of the best choices I made during my time at UW. I got to meet so many amazing people and share the fun of northwest forecasting. I will miss it very much but look forward to seeing what will happen for everyone in the future. #wawx
Today we had our last club meeting of the 2024-2025 school year! We enjoyed bringing you the forecasts this last year with plenty of wind, rain, and even snow to keep us busy. ❄️🍃🌦️

State tuned for summer forecasts! ☀️🌇 #wawx

NEW: Two California weather service offices will no longer operate 24/7, curtailing the output of an agency that issues warnings for more than 7 million people in the Central Valley. #CAwx

A spokesperson for NOAA confirmed to @sfchronicle.com that the offices were not operating around-the-clock.

Collectively, the Central Valley offices issue forecasts and warnings from Redding to Bakersfield, including Lassen, Yosemite, Kings and Sequoia National Parks.

Saturday is looking nice and warm with a few clouds before rain returns on Sunday. Great opportunity to see the cherry blossoms if you don’t mind the crowds. 🌤️🌸 #wawx #spring

Tho chasing often involves long drives & occl “bust,” it’s made better by whom you see along the way.
Spent time ystdy w/ @josephrenalds.bsky.social & fellow UW student as we tracked cells moving toward Bellevue. If U aren’t following the @theuwdawgcast.bsky.social, what are you waiting for?

Sorry I don’t, I usually use another place for radar data but that is bizarre.
Clearing skies visible to the southwest (left side of picture) from a UW-Seattle webcam. Warmer temperatures will allow more energy for storms later this evening. #wawx

⚡️WEDNESDAY THUNDERSTORMS⚡️

Strong thunderstorms will move through the region tomorrow evening. The biggest concerns will be frequent lightning, gusty winds, heavy downpours, and a chance for isolated 1-2" hail. #wawx

The mass firing of both new hires and recently promoted senior staff within #NOAA, including mission-critical and life-saving roles at the National Weather Service (#NWS), is profoundly alarming.

We are not expecting a big snowstorm, but there is a chance to see some flakes flying this weekend.

The best opportunity appears during the overnight hours when temps cool to around freezing. 🌦️❄️ #wawx
