Parece que Avi Loeb no solo se ha convertido en un charlatán ufológico, sino que se apropia del trabajo de otros investigadores.

Not a surprise! I gave to his group a presentation giving some results about interstellar meteoroids (ISM) found and published by my team. Months afterwards he submitted a manuscript to ApJ claming they discovered a 2nd ISM, just ours!
Fortunately I was the referee of such ms. and the lie was solved

The inner solar system today (Oct. 10, 2025, at 00 UTC). Our interstellar visitor 3I/ATLAS, is speeding away from Mars; its next photo op, with Juice, is in less than a month. Roughly a month from today, Europa Clipper is likely to fly through the 3I cometary tail!
Orbit simulator image of the inner solar system on October 10, 2025, with the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS and the spacecraft Juice and Europa Clipper.

Ha! It looks like Avi Loeb silently edited his Medium post about the Perseverance Navcam images, after being called out for his wrong interpretation.
While he previously claimed the image was of 3I/Atlas, he now says the claim came from "social media". 🔭
A paragraph about the Navcam image that claimed the image is of 3I/Atlas was edited to say "This was claimed on social media to be an image" of the comet A paragraph that previously only mentioned the object creating the source could be much closer to the camera than Atlas was extended with a speculation that it could be one of the Martian moons.

Desmontando bulos sobre el
cometa 3I/ATLAS. @joseptrigo.bsky.social
“Eran muy esperadas estas imágenes. Sobre todo, por las especulaciones sobre la presunta naturaleza artificial del objeto, a pesar de que todas las observaciones obtenidas desde su descubrimiento indican que se trata de un cometa.”
Las últimas noticias sobre el cometa extrasolar 3I/ATLAS llegan desde Marte
Entre otras novedades, las imágenes enviadas por diversas sondas que orbitan el planeta rojo desmontan definitivamente el rumor de que el visitante es de naturaleza artificial.

Attention: according to forward-scatter stations is ongoing a significant meteor #outburst probably associated with Earth crossing a dense dust trail of comet #21P Giacobini-Zinner. It seems produced by very faint meteors (probably tiny micron-sized meteoroids)

Lastly, that bright streak in the Navcam images is actually Phobos. See below for a short analysis of this image.

It's very sad that NASA isn't able to put the record straight with the current political chaos.

Short version: left is my processesed Navcam image, right is the Stellarium simulation for the image.
The bright elongated thing is Phobos being smeared by long exposure.
Acturus and the big dipper stars are also visible. 3I/Atlas is wayyy to dim to be seen in the image.

COMET #C2025A6 #LEMMON WITH ITS TAIL THIS MORNING in a stacked image of 35 images, 10 s exp.each. Despite the Full Moon interference, really beautiful green coma through the telescope in +6 mag. A pleasure enjoying this fascinating moment with my wife.

A nice clear sky helped me photograph comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) on 1 October 2025. The ion tail is becoming brighter and full of streamers and the dust tail grows. #cometWatch #astrophotography
A comet with a tail among the stars. The green gasy coma is about 10 arcminutes across. The ion tail extends beyond the edge of the frame.

Equipment: GSO N203/800 with TS GPU cc, AZ-EQ5, unmodified Olympus E-PL5.

Exposure: 100x30s, from B4 skies of eastern Crete.

Edited with DSS, SIRIL and GIMP.
