Anyone do #colouring in?
As in #colouringbooks etc?
If so wd you pay a Ko-fi for a PDF download of a few #doodles to colour in?
I been doing 2 #doodleart classes/week since 2021, got loads sketchbooks full.
ChatGPT suggests selling PDFs of them to fund getting some printed as a colouring book.

Lovely view of Winter Hill & the old pigeon loft on Rivington Pike (shame about lamp post) with Horwich below, on a lovely but chilly day, much colder than the previous rainy cloud covered days, more like December should be.
We're off to find a ruined castle in the woods now...

Oh my! I just discovered my van has heated windscreen & heated mirrors ♥️
Very useful for clearing overnight condensation 👍
It's 10 yrs old but never had a vehicle this modern before.
Also accidentally discovered a little hideyhole in the dashboard with another 12v socket.

Ha! 3 mins drive from a Tesco extra which means not only a loo but a mooch for all kinds of things which I don't know I need & which can't get in the normal sized supermarkets where I live.
I suppose there are benefits to living in a big town which is bigger than my nearest city.

Ventured south to Wigan, on the edge of Manchester commuter belt on an important errand, where theres LOTS of people & LOTS of traffic & all v different to what I'm used to.
Raining heavily here too.
Mission accomplished, I now have 48hrs freedom & no plans before I need to return to my flat.

People are exasperating! (Polite way of expressing my frustration).

Whinge follows...

It stopped raining tho still blowy & grey & drizzly so we went onto the beach for a good hour. V few other ppl there & we kept away, pottering along tideline at one end, dog off lead but staying close by.

Thought it might be prudent to move the van as the rain is showing no sign of easing off & the nearby drain seems blocked...

Just the other side of hedge on right is the beach, a good source of sea glass.

I've backed up further along the road where the road drain is clear & no surface water.

Rain now properly kicked in but managed a quick stroll with dog earlier before the downpour. So much quicker & easier to take dog out than in the flat. Little beach café is open which is useful for loo & hot meal at lunchtime.
Possible drier hour mid aft so may get a beach walk in & some photos.

A typical little Cumbrian stone chapel, perched high on a ridge facing west, built to withstand the onslaught of the weather, with ancient gravestones so old & moss covered that impossible to see inscription.
At the moment theres some patches of blue sky but the rain is forecast from late afternoon.

This morning's view (& the layby I'm in). It's good to see green.

There's another of my favourite parkups on the side of the hill in the pic. Great views & sunsets up there but v exposed & not great when bad weather incoming from the west.
December 13, 2025 at 10:33 AM
Gentle pitter patter of rain on van roof as I was dozing off. Nice to listen to when warm, dry, cosy. Hope its stopped by morning tho, got stuff to do tomoro.
Much quieter spot tonight than last night, am in a layby set back off main road in a fairly rural area, almost no traffic this time of night.

Land of the free, huh?

I've never particularly wanted to visit USA & never been in a position where I could have gone (pet owner for 32 yrs & low income for most of that time), but now I wouldn't go even if I was paid to go & all expenses paid.

My personal data is mine & not for sale.
It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

This is Diesel. Who has been known to fall out of bed while asleep. I've been there too.

Is the weird sleeping dog thing a Staffy thing? 🤔

Despite losing my vape on a dog walk 😡, the rain dried up & it was good to get out for a short walk along a familiar canal tow path which was a regular haunt when I was living on the road in 2024.

Nice to see a little honesty box at the Canal Trust HQ shed, where they operate boat tours from.

#ADHDTax strikes again ☹️

After a year & 2 weeks, I've finally lost my vape which has been my constant companion thru some difficult times & which has saved me a fortune & massively helped improve my health after 40yrs of smoking.

I'm gutted, it had become a friend & a symbol of achievement.

After a year in bricks & mortar, I'd forgotten life on the road in a micro campervan revolves around fuel stations, supermarkets & MacDs, for loo😁
With ANPR on car parks, supermarket visits require advance planning as usually no return within X hrs. So gotta get supplies & use loo all in same visit.
December 12, 2025 at 2:38 PM
After weeks of prep & planning & big £, I've finally escaped the concrete box & town in my little campervan. All new systems (heat & power) functioning correctly but ironically it's too mild to need the new heater just yet.

Van needs a good tidy & reorg but I can do that in daylight tomoro.

1st dog walk on beach for a week as weather been so bad & I've been so busy. Took advantage of rain stopping this aft to give the boy a good run & rewarded with unexpected sunset golden light about 3.30pm for a brief while. Sunset in far SSE this time of year, no longer visible behind buildings.

Much of the £10.9bn UK Covid scheme fraud 'beyond recovery', report says.

Lack of checks on Eat Out, Bounce back loans, furlough support & more.

£13.6bn spent on 38bn PPE items, 11bn unused. £10bn loss from over-ordering, £324m fraud.

Organized looting. Will anyone be held to account?

River Lune is v high, not seen it this high in town before. Another 3 feet & it'll burst it's banks. With all the run off from the Howgills & Yorks Dales, 3 ft surge is quite feasible.

At least they're being honest now but clearly they're not even going to try to protect anyone. We're all just collateral damage.
NHS England: “It will not be possible to halt the spread of a new pandemic virus, and it would be a waste of public health resources and capacity to attempt to do so.”

This has got to be one of the most 🤯 things I’ve ever seen written down in an official document.

Please ask your MP to see 'Museum of Austerity' at the @youngvictheatre. With more cuts to disability benefits ahead, the mixed reality installation is a reminder of how government austerity kills disabled people.
The theatre is just a brisk walk from parliament.

Is there such a thing as a good reliable honest courier service in UK?

My delivery didn't arrive with FedEx by Thurs 4 Dec lunchtime as scheduled, no missed delivery notice, no updates since. Phoned twice today as it's needed by 10 Dec & was ordered 30 Nov & seller despatched 1st Dec.

Can confirm, new heater in van works perfectly & only needs to be on for about 20-30 mins before I start having hot flushes 👍😁🥵

And according to the new solar MPPT app, even on a grey rainy Dec day, my 100w solar panel is still giving 2w which is enough to trickle charge.

Brrr... Its been really chilly day, a raw wind, felt icy despite 5C. Now lashing down & howling wind. Not looking forward to taking dog out after tea.
Have reluctantly plugged in the oil radiator as it only costs 15p/hr & got my usb heat pad on my lap. This time tomoro could be toasty in the van🤞
