Human, wife, mother. A “love your neighbor Christian, not a storm the Capital kind” -(@KristinaHart.bsky.social said it first, not me). AuDHD and thriving. I research, develop and write life skills curriculum for use in carceral settings. Always learning.
It used to be my job to call “time and temperature” when after the power came on after an outage to see what time we should set clocks to. I was also the “remote” for the tv until I was 12 and we upgraded to a tv that had an actual remote.
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

That should have been a red card. Shoving an injured player off the pitch... C'mon Anthony Taylor, where's your beloved red card now? #ARSLIV

How can we make this happen at any public appearance of anyone who is trying to say the murder of Renee Good was in self defense? The shame they’re heaping on themselves and us as a country… I don’t understand why anyone takes them seriously. #shame

Walz: "I couldn't help but think, and it scares me a bit -- 'The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most important directive.' It certainly feels like that in this moment."

Imagine living in a world where giraffes (so wonderful and ridiculous looking) exist and instead of living in wonder and in peace with fellow humans, you choose to be angry and violent about the fact that we are diverse. So much anger and hate is a terrible burden to bear.

In studying the book of Esther the realization hit me that Haman was his own worst enemy. Prideful, small minded, greedy and foolish. And every step he took brought him closer to his eventual downfall on the gallows he built for his enemy. Funny how that works out sometimes.

In the interest of injecting beauty into this dismal timeline I thought I’d share this lovely business we visited in Ireland. First perfume store that did not immediately give me a headache upon entering. #ireland I bought a bottle and regret not buying more.

To be crystal clear, I am a taxpayer and would NOT like my tax dollars to be used to “acquire” Greenland, through purchase or military force.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER‼️

5 yrs ago I was pregnant & sitting on the couch watching a mob of people force their way into the Capitol. I tried to explain to my husband who was working what was happening. He didn’t understand the severity until he came into the room and saw the coverage. Such a disgraceful unsettling day.

What fun to get in the car for my usual Saturday donut run and find out my country is apparently invading Venezuela. And by “fun” I mean yet another thing to heap shame upon us. Christ have mercy.

The Peacock algorithm finally worked. It showed me a show called Shelved, which appears to be a work place comedy set in a library. Be still my heart.

I couldn’t remember Willie Nelson’s name so I just used the words “hair, marijuana, older than dirt” to describe him, In case you’re wondering how this week in the in between times is going. #longdecember

Not me over here sobbing at some of the best dads ever.
In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

I am a terrible aunt. I have a niece with a name that could end in -ey or -ay. This child is 10. And no matter what, without fail, I have to look up which way her name is spelled at Christmas. 🤦‍♀️ #merrychristmas

I saw an Eames chair out in the wild today at an antique mall. It was on “sale” for $2500. So it stayed there but I enjoyed looking at it for a bit. #oldstuff #antiquing

Sometimes I love the internet. Today I messaged an author of a set of books I read as a child. I've always wanted to know how the main character's name was pronounced. And so I looked her up, found a contact form and sent the message. She responded within 30 minutes and now I have an answer! 1/2

In the cesspool of this year, it’s good to take a moment and appreciate that there’s still good happening.
One of the biggest moments of my career:
USCIS canceled my client’s naturalization oath ceremony. We filed a lawsuit, went to trial, and the judge swore him in right there in the courtroom!

Watching “North” for the first time since I was a kid in the 90’s. I do not understand why this movie tanked. It seems like the result of a writing prompt that went “imagine if kids could declare free agency and pick new parents but tell it from the perspective of the kid and throw in the 1/2

My husband’s best friend is a West Point grad so I am heartily in the Go Army beat Navy camp.
But also I still find the whole thing sort of macabre. I can only hope they have a better Commander in Chief soon.

Tim Howard making absolute sense today. We can’t love Salah when he wins @lfcr.bsky.social championships with his “arrogance” and then be mad at him when he’s miffed at being benched. While I’m a Chelsea supporter, my 9 yr old lives and dies with @lfcr.bsky.social and an LFC w/o Mo is going to hurt.

Return of the King midnight showing lives in the Hall of Core memories for me. So much delightful weirdness in all the geeks and nerds who lined up for hours. We took turns listening to my friend’s new iPod. It was a simpler time.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

"Sam?" "Yeah?" "Were you scared?" "Yeah." "Me too." - CJ and Sam after CJ finds out Sam is the one who pushed her out of gunfire.

And then CJ's monologue at the press briefing regarding gun crime. #thewestwing 1/2

And then Pt 2. Charlie (@dulehill.bsky.social) hearing that he was the target. Margaret saying she can forge the President's signature. Donna ( @janelmoloney.bsky.social )sitting there looking like her life is over in the hospital waiting room. All the backstory, like CJ falling in the pool. #tvsky

What Kind of Day Has It Been and In the Shadow of Two Gunmen Pt 1, at the end of season one/beginning of season two of The West Wing is still one of the most chilling episodes of tv I've ever seen. Just so well done. @bradleywhitford.bsky.social is devastating #tvsky #thewestwing
