Experienced phlebotomists and nurses know where to head for in cases where the patient is obese. Hands don't accumulate much fat over the veins, hence the bruising seen on his right hand...that's the best access point.

I’d heard about the extinction of the slender-billed curlew and the poor bird hadn’t had a definite sighting since 1995 but official confirmation (96% probability it is correct) of its extinction is still profoundly sad - ask not for whom the bell tolls…

It reminds me of that desperately sad and heartbreaking little sound clip of the very last bird of it's kind calling out hoping for a reply, but none came. It makes me weep just thinking about it.

As part of the 2024 waders update, 16 other migratory waterbirds had their red list status uplisted

The decline in so many wader and shorebird species is deeply concerning and shows the urgent need for more effective conservation action across the flyway

The loss of this species is a stark reminder of the threats our own Eurasian Curlew faces

With the UK hosting 25% of the breeding population, it is vital that we continue to protect breeding and non-breeding sites from development and lobby for nature-friendly farming

There's already several identical posts allegedly by different authors popping up, so they've all been given the exact text of what to say then?
judeet44.bsky.social
Logical...it also makes me think they're deeply afraid of being rounded up for some reason, or are being well paid to say such stuff

I think that only by comparing this statement to those of previous years where the Peace Prize was awarded to people for similar reasons can we be sure it's "trolling"...it'd be nice to think it might be though!

Banning Dummy Knobinson march would have played right into their narrative and Police would then have faced MASSIVE disorder with potential for widespread damage to people and property and themselves. As it is, it passed relatively peacefully, thus disappointing many of the drunken flag shaggers.

'Before' and 'after' photos of a collection of books. The before photo shows tattered books, some with missing covers. The after versions are beautifully restored.

The committee don't just look at recent history of the candidates, they consider a much longer period of time. They also know choosing someone reflects on them and the integrity of the award. Something the RSA (?) failed to do for Musk recently after they admitted him onto their rolls.

The first was just a general discussion about the brexit vote, a few weeks after the result, my friend who'd spent yrs in France same time as me voted for. The second was more recently when a friend said covid wasn't real despite her daughter being disabled by after-effects of 5 infections with it.

Smashed windows and graffiti at the Brighton Conference Centre, where women have come from all over the world to talk about male violence and women's human rights. This is trans activism, and it's misogyny in action.

I have 2 very longterm friends whom I think I know pretty well and they know me well too. However they can still say/believe things which shock me with disbelief and leave me floundering about what to say in return. It makes me wonder if there's things I've said that they feel the same way about.

Worries over involvement of the Blair's or Palantir, lies about its uses, how it would work, the cost.

All easily debunked if you read the official info released about it. But every other post online was fear mongering and spreading this disinformation in the days following the announcement.

The only logical conclusion has to be that UK press have also received massive bribes/donations from Russia and you only have to look critically at their platforming of Farage to suspect that, and at who owns 2 major newspapers...yes a Russian, now in the HoL, promoted by Boris Johnson.

He won't have total control though and as that won't sit well with him I think he'll only participate in a very remote and detached way. It's thought that his pressure on Netanyahu was what forced things somewhat to this point, but it was because he wanted Brownie points for the Nobel Peace Prize.
