Looks like a very left-wing and progressive budget.

Which Ed Davey is calling a "continuity Conservative budget".

So glad I voted for Labour. My next vote is going to Labour.

The 'winners and losers' from Rachel Reeves' budget makes for interesting reading. Is it any wonder that the right wing media, owned by the very wealthy, have been so critical

Liam is absolutely correct below, with one small caveat….the Rich have no shame and demonstrate such freely.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Whole thing was crowdfunded by @the-citizens.bsky.social to highlight 5-year legal case to get an investigation into Russian interference in UK politics. Power to the people!

The predictable crushing uniformity of the coverage of this Budget tells you an awful lot about the priorities of those papers, and also why there's actually quite a lot to praise in it bylinetimes.com/2025/11/26/t...

Maybe take that question to the Lib Dems and Tories who have so far overturned the Commons votes on these measures at least 3 times!

You realise this is because the Tories and Lib Dems keep blocking the entire bill in the Lords. They keep voting against these provisions.

So what is the government to do? Delay the whole bill for months and months longer, or strike a compromise and hope they can later to implement the rest.

It's time to be nice about the Budget.

The council tax surcharge is a good policy. Very compromised/imperfect, but still good policy.

While many activists call for justice for "all," this call routinely excludes the billions of non-human individuals commodified, confined, and killed each year.
